Paris is the last sweetheart left! She is going to be a lighter gold color. She has a sweet, loving, and gentle personality and is still a playful puppy! I love her so much but I would like to find her a loving family to adopt her. ❤️

On Wednesday our new mama Primrose had 7 puppies. She had very healthy pups, 5 females and 2 males!

Purple is our favorite color! Mikaela had her best show yet! Even with the very distracted Rue! Grand champion for Cooper in Rally. Reserve grand for Rue in showmanship and advanced rally. Cooper also received a perfect score!! ❤️

Dog shows have started again. Lots of learning for the dogs and us! Rue is in showmanship and advanced rally. Cooper is doing novice rally (his first year). All the training and shows are through the 4-H program - a great way for kids to learn about dogs!

Has your dog ever been "skunked"? Sometimes dogs are very curious! Cooper had an encounter with a skunk recently, so I looked up a recipe for getting the skunk smell out. It worked pretty well. Not 100%, of course, but much better than anything I have tried before. Here's the recipe in case your interested:

Best Solution:
¼ c baking soda
1-2 teaspoons of mild dishwashing detergent
1 quart of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide solution

1. Mix in bucket and use immediately
2. Work the foaming mixture well into the coat
3. Leave on for 5 minutes
4. Rinse well with warm water
5. Wash with dog shampoo
Be careful not to get the solution into their eyes or soaked through to their skin (may irritate and cause them to start scratching)
You can get the smell out of your own clothes by using regular laundry detergent with a half-cup of baking soda

FYI: apparently the skunk mating season is February-March

Primrose really liked watching Air Bud! Cooper is such a pretty dog! Ivy loves soccer, but unfortunately I couldn’t load her video so you just get a picture.

Just an update on our breeding schedule. We are retiring Ginger now. She is still part of our family, just not as a breeding dog. We are planning to breed Cooper (pictured on the left) and Ivy (pictured in the middle). If you know of anyone interested in English Goldens, the plan is for next fall/winter. We will breed American Goldens (red) in two years when Primrose is old enough. Thank you for your interest in Get Key Goldens!

Primrose is our puppy from July’s litter. She is 4.5 months old. She sits well and is learning down, but we need to work on stay! She was trying to crawl to me the whole time, when I took the picture of her laying down! Who else has some cute puppy pictures to post?

For some reason, Ginger has decided to sit up on her hind legs. No training involved. She’s so tall she has to put one paw on the couch!
