It is with great sadness that the Colorado Springs Police K-9 Unit had to say goodbye to retired CSPD canine Diesel who passed away at the age of fourteen. Canine Diesel served the City of Colorado Springs from 2012 to 2019 as a narcotics detection/patrol apprehension dog. He had an incredible career with his handler Lieutenant Brian Cummings; and will be greatly missed. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Cummings family in this time of their loss. Thank you for your service canine Diesel, we have the watch from here!

Making streets safer in Castle Rock!

Woof, woof! The Castle Rock Police Department is excited to introduce the community to our newest K9 team, Officer Beatty and K9 Raizen! The duo made its public debut at Tuesday’s National Night Out celebration. Prior to joining the K9 Unit, Officer Beatty worked on CRPD’s patrol team. Raizen (pronounced Rye-Zen) is an 18-month-old Belgian Malinois who is a dual-certified K9 specializing in narcotics detection and patrol work.

It is with a Heavy Heart that we Announce the passing of K9 Babe( AKA Doris) from Summit County S.O....

K9 Babe (AKA Doris) passed away after complications from a preexisting medical condition on Monday, July 22nd. K9 Babe served Summit County for 2 years, and assisted in locating multiple missing people and over 70lbs of narcotics. K9 Babe loved to run, ski and hike outside of work. She had a huge personality, and will be missed by many.
