While Bill was at a rest stop, an abandoned dog jumped through his open car window and lay down in the passenger seat. The dog was very hungry, so Bill gave him the only food he had in the car—cookies—and the dog ate them gratefully.
The dog had chosen the right car. Bill had already rescued and adopted three stray dogs, so he decided to add this new dog to his family. He named him River.
After a few days of feeding, cleaning, showing love, and taking him to the vet for medical care, River quickly became a part of the family, where he will always be loved and cared for. "He's the sweetest and most loyal dog," Bill says.

I lost my baby this week. This has been such a difficult week and I just want to honor her here. She mattered so much! She was my service dog and saved my life. But most of all, she was my heart. 💔

I lost my heart dog 3/16/24. Finnegan was 9 years old and I lost him so suddenly, he was showing no signs of sickness. I still mourn for him and it's taken time to start to heal. Thank all of you for giving people like me a place to go and know you understand my pain. My heart goes out to each and every one of you that are going through the devastation and hurt of losing your fur baby.

I am not a religious person, so I have been really struggling with the thought of where my boy is after he passed almost 3 weeks ago.

I started to get even more upset that people would post the most beautiful rainbows after their babies have passed, showcasing to their families that they were okay.
I wasn’t upset about the posts, but upset because it has been almost 3 weeks since I’d seen anything and thought it would never happen. Today, on my way home from work (I cried as I always do) but cried extra hard and begged my boy to show me somehow that he was okay. As tears flooded my face, I noticed a small glimmer of a tiny rainbow on the last stretch of my drive home. Sure, it could have been a reflection, jet fuel, or something I can’t quite explain or to try to understand. But it gave me a small glimpse of peace for my constant aching, emptiness. It was a very small and hard to point out piece of “rainbow” but I’m trying my best to believe my boy was trying to reach me. I’m still having a hard time coming to complete peace and I’m hoping it’ll just take time.
My first soul dog passed when she was 13 years old, my boy passed suddenly due to aggressive cancer at 6 years. It just feels different, unfair.
It also doesn’t help that the world has just moved onward, forward, and I’m still stuck here 3 weeks later.

Pictured is my boy in October. We had no indication until the 1st week of December that cancer would take him from us. I miss him so much it hurts. There isn’t a spot in the house I don’t see him looking up at me.

There was a goat on set while filming a movie. Her owner said to me, 'Hurry up and finish the scene because Sunday is my nephew's first communion and we have to grill her!'
I immediately bought the animal, tied it with a rope and took it to the five-star hotel. I brought it into my room – what a scandal!
That day I decided to leave the film industry and dedicate myself to helping animals. It was June 1973 and I was 38 years old.”

As a dog owner, if you ever stop by my home (or quite honestly even see me in public), there might be something you notice. The ever present and sometimes abundant amounts of…………. Dog hair. No matter how often I sweep. How many times I brush. How persistent I am with mopping and lint brush rolling, it’s there. And I know for some it’s enough of a deterrent to avoid owning dogs all together. Let me explain (from my perspective and that of a dog lover) why it isn’t for me.
Yes, there is dog hair in my house. On my furniture. Covering my clothes and shoes and rugs and floors. Inside, outside, on pillows, sprinkled over bathroom floors. And why is it everywhere in my home? Because my dogs- my loyal, faithful, loving, devoted dogs, are everywhere I am. They want to me with me. With my children. With my husband. They don’t care how we look. What we wear. How old or young we are. If we’re slightly thin or carry a little weight. If we worked outside all day and are covered in dirt and sweat. If we are struggling and couldn’t manage to get out of our pajamas. They just want to be near us. To be loved by us. To love us. No matter the size of our house. No matter the expense of our furniture. No matter the status we hold. They just love. No matter what. No matter where. And no matter when. Their love for us is not based on anything and is not stipulated on expectations. And it has no shelf life or expiration date. The dog hair is more abundant on my bed when I’m sick because my loyal dogs don’t leave my side. The floor near the front door always has larger amounts because ANY time we come home our dogs greet us, entire bodies shaking with excitement. So to those of you with spotless floors and pristine beds: enjoy the neatness. Wear black without worry. And eat your food without needing a second set of eyes to watch for hair. 😂❤️ I’ll take my mess. I’ll take the sweeping. I’ll gladly welcome the shedding and constant cleaning. Because it comes from a love and loyalty that not all are lucky enough to experience. I’ll take it. ❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️

Hi all! I just wanted to introduce myself and share a photo of Rocco! We have been fostering him for two weeks and he has a history of fear aggression towards strangers but not other animals. I am hoping to learn new ways to work through this as he’s an amazing dog and goofball. This is his sassy look today 😂
