I finally found a pic of our first pup after we got married -1986. Thor, a Norwegian Elkhound, was the first to join our family. Unfortunately, he had to be put to sleep at the age of 2 due to neurological issues. I was pregnant with our first child, and it almost destroyed me. Can someone please put Thor over the bridge for me? He loved hiking outdoors, and was the best boy. Thank you to the talented people who volunteer to help those of us not talented in this way remember our pups in a happy, healthy place!

"It turns out that pets also have last wills before they die, but only known to vets who put old and sick animals to sleep." Twitter user Jesse Dietrich asked a vet what the hardest part of his job was.
The specialist replied without hesitation that the hardest thing for him was seeing how old or sick animals look for their owners before they fall asleep. The fact is 90% of owners don't want to be in a room with a dying animal. People leave so they don't see their animals leave. But they don't realize it's in these last moments of life that their animal needs them the most.
Vets are asking owners to stay close to animals until the end. "It is inevitable that they die before you. Remember that you were the center of their lives. Maybe they were just a part of you. But they are also your family. Even if it's hard, don't give up on them.
Don't let them die in a room with a stranger in a place they don't like. It's very painful for vets to see how pets can't find their owner in the last minutes of their lives. They don't understand why their master left them. After all, they needed the consolation of their master.
Veterinarians do their best to make animals not so scared, but they are totally strangers to them. Don't be a coward because it's too painful for you. Think about the animal. Endure that pain for them. Be with them until the end.💞🙏

I'm heart broken. Last Friday was Bertie's forever sleep day. He had an aggressive inoperable tumour which paralysed his back legs. There was no hope for my little lad although he was still all there mentally. Such a difficult decision to make and a hard time. I had 13 years of being Bertie's Mum. Wonderful years. My sweet Maggie passed away this morning. I am so devestated my heart hurts & can’t stop crying. It was now just she & I and I will be lost without her. Having her cremated so she can be buried with my husband and I when my time comes. Along with our other 4 dogs who are already in our crypt with David. They were all our family. On 09-Feb-2025, at 05:30 pm your heart stopped beating. My beloved 12-year-old pug, my beloved "Luchito". He was already deaf and suffering from dementia, he had a stroke and I preferred to put him to sleep so that he would not suffer from the sequelae. I always promised that when the time came I would let him go because I didn't want to see him suffer and the moment came, when I least expected it. My heart is broken and I feel like my life is gone with him, how can you survive this? I always watched his publications and I was very moved, but living it in person is heartbreaking 💔🐶😭Rest in peace my "Luchito" I will love and miss you forever and until the last day of my life.

We unexpectedly lost our Baby Bear this morning. He went quietly and peacefully in his sleep. His 3rd birthday will be Monday. My husband has been disabled for several years and he's been his saving grace in his struggle with depression. Karma wouldve been 17 years old May 1, 2025 but today at 12:25 pm my life changed forever.
In Nov Karma was diagnosed with kidney disease, she was fine until 3 weeks ago when we noticed her back legs weren't as strong, fast forward from sat to today. The speed in which that disease attacks is sad.
Im heartbroken but at the same she is in a better place. I love you more then anything Karma...til we reunite

Dear friends, a very lovely person and my wonderful friend, Melissa, lost her Sammy today, due to acute pancreatitis, he recovered briefly from IV fluids and his pain was lessened. But he did not rally and passed on his own with his human Mom, Melissa, holding his paw as he passed. We all know this is rare and usually we have to make that hard decision. But luckily Sammy was able to leave on his own terms. Melissa, lovingly is the admin of a private prayer group. Can someone Please place Sammy in the loving arms of Jesus, give him angel wings or place him on the road to the pearly gates, for my friend Melissa. Thank you my friends. 🙏🏻❤️🌈

It was just another ordinary day, one of those where you get on the train without much expectation, just the need to get from point A to point B. The carriage was full of travelers, most glued to their phones, some reading books or staring out the window. I found an empty seat by the window and settled in, bracing for a rather dull journey as usual. But that day, something unusual was about to happen.

As I looked up absentmindedly, a little movement in the row ahead caught my eye. Between two seats, a tiny face peeked through. It wasn’t a human face, no—it was the face of an adorable French bulldog. Its big, round eyes gazed at me with curiosity, and its tongue lolled slightly to the side as if it were smiling. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

The dog seemed completely at ease, as though it owned the train. It looked around, sniffed softly, and melted the hearts of everyone nearby. Gradually, the whole carriage filled with smiles and laughter. Phones were lifted to capture the moment. Even the person sitting next to the dog was laughing, likely used to this kind of attention.

It reminded me how easy it is to turn an ordinary day into a memorable one. Sometimes, all it takes is a curious face and a dangling tongue to remind us that there’s always a little joy to be found, even in the most unexpected places.

This is my mom's dog, Mickey. Mom never intended to get another dog when her last one passed in 2022, but she adopted Mickey 2 years ago and they have been inseparable ever since. Mickey keeps my 72 year old mom happy and healthy, and I couldn't ask for anything better than that. Mickey just turned 2 so he got his very own peanut butter birthday cake with 2 mini milkbones on it.
My wonderful mom is having a little bit of a rough time lately and she will be absolutely over the moon, tickled pink if she sees a lot of people telling her boy happy birthday. So, can you please take a moment and leave a little heart or a birthday wish for Mickey so I can show my mom? I'll update once I show the post to my mom so y'all can see how happy it made her.

This greif is killing me and my other dog , Eli died 24th January 2025 it's been 9 days of emptiness. He was our whole world, he was our wake up call ,he knew when it was teatime and my other dog just followed Eli now he doesn't know what to do.
