Yesterday we took Oakley on an adventure to a sniffspot in Davis, SD and introduced her to agility courses! She was a fast learner and her favorite obstacle is the dog walk.
You might remember Harlee Rae from last years litter as the “little light puppy” or “Bo Peep” aka Hot pink collar. Her owner, Dave, sent us some updated photos of her! She had her first real hunt and it was a great success! Keep up the good work Harlee! 🩷

Yesterday, a friend called and asked if one of our labs could help assist finding a deer that was shot earlier in the day. Oakley was brought out to the field and was able to locate the deer in a short amount of time! Way to go Oakley!
Happy Belated 2nd Birthday to Miss Oakley! Her Birthday was on Thanksgiving! Oakley has continued to be great with the kids, loves a good brushing, and an excellent waterfowl hunter. She has her OFA’s here in the next few weeks. Her genetic panel is clear. Pending OFA results, we will have a Oakley x Wally litter planned for late August/early September 2024!

Oakley would like to remind everyone to be on the lookout for barbed wire while running the fields. It doesn’t matter how high the wire is off the ground, it can and will cut you. A huge thanks to dells vet for getting her in yesterday for emergency surgery to place a few drains and sew up the hole/muscle. Here’s to enjoying the cone of shame for the next week.
Dakotah is thoroughly enjoying her retirement! Yesterday she ran the fields for the first time this season. As you can see, she enjoyed every second of it!

Happy 6 months to Dakotah and Wally’s Fall 2022 litter! We hope your families are loving every moment with you!
Earlier today, Dakotah was spayed as a part of her retirement plan. We received a text from the vet to let us know Dakotah is out of surgery and doing great! She had a bit of anxiety when we left her at the vet, so we are happy to see she has made herself at home at their back door! 
We have the joy of boarding Chase for the next week while his family is on vacation! He has grown so much in the past few weeks!
Congratulations to the Cochran Family on their new puppy! (red collar male- Woody) He made his way home to Brandon, South Dakota today. Can’t wait to hear how he does hunting! Enjoy all the puppy snuggles!

Woody comes with full AKC registration, 24 month hip/elbow health guarantee, dewclaws removed, has been dewormed 4x, toys, blanket, transition food, vet health letter, first and second set of shots and a microchip!
Woody is ready for his new home and can leave at anytime! We are located in Colton, SD or We can deliver to Omaha, NE or St Paul, MN this weekend!

Shortly after Dakotah gave birth this past litter, we made the decision to retire Dakotah from our breeding program. Dakotah gave birth to 22 puppies in just 2 litters-12 girls and 10 boys! We recognize how hard pregnancy can be on their bodies and after seeing how miserable she was with her last pregnancy, we knew her time was done!
That being said, We will not be having any litters in 2023. But starting 2024, we will have 2 litters planned pending OFA results! Loretta- Wally and Dakotah’s offspring will be bred with a stud and we will continue Wally’s line with our black lab Oakley.

Meet Woody (aka red collar male)
Woody is the final puppy left! Woody is such a mellow puppy and has the temperament of his father (Wally)! He loves all the attention and eager to learn. He loves playing with the big dogs and chasing them around the house! His favorite toys include jumbo tennis balls, ropes, and nylabones. He loves it when we take out the snow geese. He loves the snow and enjoys eating it! He is 95% potty trained and loves the kennel! (The kennel is his safe space and where he sleeps at night!)

What a great way to ring in the new year- with a new puppy! Congratulations to Luke and Avery on their new puppy Rusty! (orange collar male-Andy) Rusty made his way to Charleston, South Carolina today! After a rocky airport start due to a plane malfunction, he finally joined his new family at midnight!
