Shout out to rider .eq and our Mr.Q on grabbing reserve champion in the modified rider yesterday at Duncraven! Grace showed our boy after only two rides on him and did an amazing job showing him (almost) IHSA style. 😉 We love Grace and can’t wait to have her back after she comes back from school in Florida! ♥️🌟
Today was the kick off horse show of our IEA season and what a great day it was! Our riders all had fantastic rides and pulled a lot of great ribbons, including quite a few first places! Jules Funk was first place in intermediate over fences, Eleri Ellis was first in novice over fences and Ruby Paterson won first place in novice flat! 🏅
Special shout out to .q for winning high school reserve high-point rider and to .eq for winning middle school reserve high point rider.
Team SGS finished reserve champion over all and we are so proud! Can’t wait for the next show! 🎉
We are extremely excited to welcome “Black Tie Affair” also known as Cade in the barn! This fancy boy is being half leased by our and will also be showing with SGS owner and trainer Lauren. Cade has made a great impression thus far and we can’t wait to see what he accomplishes with both Alyssa and Lauren! 🌟

Throw back Thursday to SGS owner and head trainer on the pony who started it all and gave her name to the business, Striking Gold aka Caddie. Caddie was a great teacher. She built my confidence, and helped grow my love of horses and the sport through our connection. She was always there to listen and always had my back under saddle. Today I’m reflecting on how grateful I am to have been her partner and how thankful I am for the business that she ultimately inspired 💛

Little shout out to the best baby Jack ♥️ This special horse came to me a little over a year ago, green and very lightly started over fences as a four year old. I am so impressed with how far he’s come in such a short time and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work with him. We connected right away and he quickly worked his way into my heart. I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together in the future. 🌟 Jack will be heading to his first show in just a few weeks!
It was a staff show day a few weeks back! Congrats to Carol Stillwell’s Magic Myrtle on placing reserve champion in the hopeful hunters with SGS owner & trainer Lauren Loshiavo. Myrtle was being prepped to be shown with her new kid and was fantastic.
Big congrats to assistant barn manager Sophia Reder on a super successful show day with her horse Co-pilot. This was their debut in the .80-.85s and they left with clean rounds and some great ribbons.
Looking forward to the real start of our show season starting this weekend with Autumn Riders!

We have been enjoying every minute of fall riding in our festively decorated outdoor arena. This season’s chilly mornings have been reminding us how lucky we are to have a heated indoor arena which we will be riding in all winter long!
We have a couple of stalls open if you want to cozy up with us this winter and enjoy training in our heated indoor arena and hanging with fellow boarders post-ride in our warm and comfortable viewing room.

Big win for our Striking Gold Stables IEA team at our first show of the season on Sunday!
🏆 Both our junior intermediate riders, Kaia LaViola and Alyssa Sing, placed 5th in their classes!
🏆Our future novice X-rails rider, Maggie Peduto placed 6th in her class, and our future novice on the flat rider, Ruby Paterson, placed 5th in her class!
🏆Both our novice W/T/C riders Aleya Freeman, and Emily Matthews placed 6th in their classes as well!
🏆Lastly, our novice W/T rider, Avery Weisbrot, placed 3rd in her class making her the highest placement of the day!
🤍All of our other riders had great draws and an all around very very positive first IEA show experience! Congrats to our entire STG team! I’m Lauren Loshiavo, Owner and Trainer at Striking Gold Stables. ✨🐎
I was born and raised in Colts Neck and began riding at the age of 5. I became a professional in 2016 and have extensive experience working in the equine industry as a rider, trainer, barn manager, IHSA Coach, and now business owner.
In 2021 I started my business , providing hunter/ jumper horseback riding instruction for children and adults from beginner to advanced riders.
My supportive and patient approach to teaching is proven to help riders progress regardless of what level you’re at.
Additionally, I received my therapeutic riding instructor certification through PATH International in 2018 and provide riding instruction for children and adults with special needs.
Our well-rounded program leads with the mission of ensuring all of our riders feel supported on their individual riding journeys.

Congratulations to riders Lauren and Sophia for pulling some great ribbons this past Sunday at Princeton show jumping! Lauren and her horse Prince Royal were reserve champion of the modified 2’3” and Sophia and her horse Copilot pulled some great ribbons in the low adult 2’6” equitation. 🥇 Very proud!

SGS had a great weekend showing at both Autumn Riders and Princeton Show jumping! .eq was grand champion of the 2’3” modified rider at Princeton. .reder pulled great ribbons in the 2’3” modified rider as well, with her lease horse Chico on his first outing off property! Additionally, .eq was a trooper showing Berlin in the beginner equitation in the rain on Saturday, and pulled some great ribbons too! Looking forward to all the shows to come! 🌟
