Hounds + Whiskers Pet Care Service was established in 2024 by Owner Tori Tartaglia. We are a local pet care service out of Northeast Indiana. While taking care of families in Whitley County and Fort Wayne, at Hounds + Whiskers we strive to make every home check-in visit and walking experience as fear and stress-free as possible for both pets and their owners.

These playful pups have received their first round of shots and are eager to start their lives with loving families. Please note that they will need to return to the rescue to complete their shot series and be spayed/neutered.

We welcome applications from adopters with or without other pets! Here's a quick guide to when your new furry friend can come home:

* Homes with other pets: Eight weeks old and up.
* Homes without other pets: Twelve weeks old and up.

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been 10 months since I started this journey with Hounds + Whiskers Pet Care Services. (Time has flown by!) I believe it's about time for a introduction!

So hello, pet parents!
My name is Tori Tartaglia and I am a dedicated animal care professional with a passion for ensuring pets receive the best care possible. My career began in 2021 at my local animal shelter in Whitley County, fulfilling a childhood dream of working with animals.
I ventured out to Northeast Indiana’s largest full-access animal shelter. (please spay + neuter ya pets!) After feeling the emotional and physical tole, I decided to transition into the veterinary field, where I am currently serving as a veterinary assistant and receptionist.

In March 2024, H+W (short for "Hounds + Whiskers"), a pet care service that began as a side venture to care for a client's dog during my lunch breaks. However, the joy that is experienced in providing personalized care reignited my love for shelter work and inspired me to turn H+W into a business. As H+W has grown, I now offer pet care services on weekends, holidays, during early morning and evening hours, catering to a broader clientele.

My favorite aspect of running H+W is being the go-to, trusted person for pet owners, providing peace of mind while offering a safe, loving environment for their pets in their own home. I like to take the time to understand each animal's unique personality, quirks, likes, and fears, ensuring every pet enjoys a relaxing and positive experience.

At Hounds + Whiskers Pet Care Services, I believe every pet deserves care that’s gentle, loving, and stress-free. I specialize in fear-free handling, with each interaction is designed to reduce stress, fear, and anxiety.

where we adopted Maggie in 2021 after being found at 5 weeks old. I fell in love with her while taking care of her during her time in Foster.

We figured it's about time that we share the little guy that really started Hounds + Whiskers Pet Care. 🐾 You may have seen his little face on our Facebook story yesterday! This is Walter! We have been very lucky and fortunate enough to being able to look after him almost every day during the week for at least 1 hour. Walter is very important to us, not only because he was our first client, but as you can't tell by the way he acts, he is 11 years young and does have some medical conditions that are controlled with daily medication. Understanding Walters treatment and conditions are extremely vital to us, so if something abnormal were to happen, we can confidently take action and get the care he needs. You will probably be seeing more of Walter, either on our story or news feed, because who wouldn't want to see a fluffy dog marshmallow.🐾🐕
