Edit: Post edited with info from Cookies family.
Cookie is an incredible dog but his family can no longer give him what he needs with a baby in the house.
He's so loving but has anxiety so he will do best with a family that will show him lots of affection, give him plenty of exercise, and create the structure and consistency he needs. Because Cookie struggles with change, and his family can no longer give him the structure and consistency he needs, his anxiety is going up (which occasionally leads to resource guarding of chew toys) and it's not a good environment for the baby nor Cookie.
If they didn't have a baby, they'd keep him for the rest of his life. He's house trained, he's loyal, he loves spending time outside and playing, he listens so well when he has the structure he needs, he's an amazing adventure companion, and he gives back all the love he receives.
While he doesn't do well in daycare, he does well with boarding and training. He's been working with an amazing trainer in Cleveland and the family would like that connection to remain because the trainer understands Cookie and his needs.
He's crate trained and needs someone willing to crate him when they're out of the house and/or when the situation may call for it (like a repairman coming over).
Cookie will thrive in a home with experienced big dog owners who respect his needs and are willing to invest in giving him what he needs.
Rather than an adoption fee, Cookie's family would like...
- the initial meet and greet to be done at BossK9 with the trainers who understand Cookie
- the adopter to complete a take-home training session with BossK9
- there to be an agreement that if it doesn't work out, they need to contact Painted Trails for rehoming
This handsome boy needs a perfect match. He is 5 years old, fully housebroken and is a Bishop and Pippi baby. This boys home situation has changed and he is looking for his forever home. I will be extremely picky about where he goes so be ready to answer tons of questions. PM me for more information.
