I must post a pup of the day because little Arlo makes me smile. He’s a young boy at 5 months of age, and is here for some puppy training. He’s a little slow to warm to new things and people and can get a little attitude when uncomfortable. We are working on that and he’s actually come far in his few lessons by introducing him to new things and working him past his comfort zone slowly, simply rewarding what we do want and also teaching him what behaviors are not acceptable . It’s all a balance ❤️🐾

Sometimes in training , I have to help someone make the heart wrenching decision to rehome a dog. I can tell you, these decisions do not come lightly and for most humans it’s a painful decision. Please do not cast judgment on someone that must do this. Sometimes life just happens and things change drastically in one’s life . You have no idea what someone is going through and to just assume or make someone feel bad isn’t right. Sometimes it’s health reasons both physically and mentally . And sometimes one can adopt a dog that just isn’t the right fit for the lifestyle of the human or the dog and both are suffering. Think about this before you cast judgement . ❤️🐾

Puppies should be introduced at an early age to a lot of different things, sights, sounds, etc. This helps your puppy develop into and confident dog not a fearful one . Today in Aces lesson, he took a walk in the woods where he’s never been. We also worked on his recall as well while being distracted. ❤️🐾

Hazel after her first puppy lesson, at home and relaxing on “place” . In my opinion, place is one of the most undertrained commands . I always recommend it to clients as one of the very first things I train. Why? Because it’s a great tool no matter the age of the dog to help teach a calm mind in the home and also helps impulse control as well. I have clients implement this into their daily lives to help create rules and boundaries in the home as well. ❤️🐾

Vinnie is quite hillarious and doesn’t lack personality for sure but definitely needs some obedience training. Here he is at his first day train learning crate manners and place command . This will help him with his impulse control as well. If you don’t have that inside the home you are definitely not going to have it out in the real world. ❤️🐾

Tonight I enjoyed some puppy yoga at New HoriZen yoga studio. This was a free event to raise donations for the Cleveland APL. It was a lot of fun. What a great way to socialize these pups and get some much needed yoga in. Thank you Jackie and the APL for hosting ❤️🐾

Welcome Belvedere to InTune Dog Training ! Belvedere is here for some basic on leash obedience and the owner would like to be able to walk him with her GSD at the same time because she’s a busy business owner and seperate walks take up a little too much time . Thank you InTune dog training, Shari Powell-Helwig for all of your help with Snoop. Obedience training went great but then he had crazy crate anxiety and thankfully Shari was able to help us - here’s a video of before and after - if anyone needs puppy help, or any age she’s the one to contact.
