Ivy
Is your dog-friendly dog looking for a canine companion? Ivy is patiently waiting in foster for her new family to take her to her furever home. Could that be you?
**To meet Ivy, text Rachael at 440-773-0270.**
Meet Ivy, the sweetest little shy girl who is ready to find her forever home! Though she can be timid at first, once Ivy opens up, her playful and energetic side shines. She absolutely adores cuddles and will happily snuggle up once she feels safe.
Ivy thrives in a calm environment when meeting new people. She prefers to approach at her own pace, but once she feels comfortable, she'll gladly accept pets and love. Ivy's social skills with other dogs are fantastic-she loves meeting new canine friends and has gotten along wonderfully with every dog she's met.
This toy-loving girl has a special fondness for tags, whether on toys or blankets, so it's best to keep those out of reach! Be mindful of electrical cords and ropes as well, as she can be quite the little chewer.
Ivy is nearly 95% potty trained and catching on quickly. She responds to affectionate terms like "girl" and "babe," and is learning basic commands like "come here," "sit," and "up." She's also working on leash training, though it's not her favorite activity just yet.
Though Ivy can get anxious when left alone, she settles down after about 10 minutes. She's making great strides in becoming more independent, venturing out into the yard on her own and even getting comfortable relaxing on the floor away from her human.
Ivy must go to a home with another dog, as she truly blossoms around other pups. Additionally, her new home should have a secure physical fence to help her feel safe. Whoever brings Ivy into their family will be incredibly lucky to have such a sweet, loving companion.

Wiccan and Tarot
Happy Friday from siblings Wicca and Tarot!
Wicca: Lap cat alert! Back in September, Wicca and her four siblings were surrendered to ARF for adoption. She spent time in one of our loving foster homes until she was given the go ahead to be placed up for adoption. Her foster momma describes her as sweet, playful and full of cuddles. Wicca enjoys climbing on your lap for a belly rub and a nap after playtime. She also has quite a motor on her and you will hear almost constant purring while she is getting the loving attention of her caregiver. In the shelter, Wicca is rooming with her brother, Tarot, and while they are not required to be adopted together we do want it noted that they have been raised together for several months. We invite you to come by the shelter to meet this sweet house panther and see if there is a magical connection between you! While here, you can also visit with brother Tarot to see if perhaps he (also) is a fit for you and your family.
Tarot: Purring machine alert! Tarot and four siblings were surrendered to ARF for adoption back in September. Time was spent in one of our loving foster homes until he was ready for adoption. According to his foster momma, he is sweet, playful and full of cuddles. She nicknamed him "Taco." Tarot is easily entertained by chasing balls, chasing around other kittens and pouncing on feather wand toys. Tarot is also such a good boy who uses his scratch pad. He can be quite the bug hunter for any pesky fellows that manage to get indoors. Tarot and his sister, Wicca, are roommates here at the shelter. And while they are not required to be adopted together, they have been raised together for several months. Tarot and Wicca are the last of their sibling group still at the shelter awaiting for someone to step forward and choose them. Come by ARF and spend time with Tarot, and perhaps Wicca too, to see if Tarot's...and perhaps Wicca's future is with you!
Angels Ludwig
Can you help save our gentle giant?
Ludwig van Beethoven (affectionately called Pogo) is just shy of two years old; a big, lovable dog with a heart full of joy. But despite his playful spirit, his young life has already been marked by heartache and hardship.
Pogo was brought back to ARF a few weeks ago, and just days ago we discovered a large lump on his front leg. After testing our worst fears were confirmed - it was osteosarcoma, an aggressive form of bone cancer that threatened his ability to run, play, and live a full life.
Fortunately, our healthcare team acted quickly to have the leg amputated and schedule six rounds of chemo. So far, his prognosis for recovery looks good.
But with the surgery, chemo, x-rays and follow-up exams, it will cost over $5000 to give him his chance at a healthy, happy life!
Your donation to our Angels for Animals Fund will help cover the costs of Pogo's life-saving treatments.
Since having his leg amputated he hasn't missed a beat. He loves walks, cuddles, and playing. Once he gets a clean bill of health, we are hopeful he will live a long, happy life.
Pogo may be a large dog, but his heart is even bigger. His fight is far from over, and with your help we believe he can make it through. Every dollar you donate will bring him closer to the life he deserves - one filled with the freedom to run, explore, and experience love.
Your donation will help provide this brave, sweet boy with the life-saving treatments he needs. Thank you for joining his fight!

Meet French Toast, a kitten with an abundance of energy and curiosity. She's an explorer at heart, always on the hunt for a new adventure. A roller ball, a dangling feather, or a laser pointer - these are the things that make her day. Yet, she also has a shy side, preferring to observe before jumping into the fray. Her playful nature is contagious, brightening up even the gloomiest of days. French Toast gets along well with other cats, including sister Bagel, adding a harmonious element to her charming personality. Katie
Senior Spotlight!
Sweet senior Katie is still waiting for her special someone to give all her love to.
Meet Katie, a graceful senior lady with a heart as big as her purr! She's an 8 year old who came to ARF as a stray, along with her three kittens. This seasoned momma cat has likely seen it all and carries herself with a quiet dignity that only comes with age and experience. Despite facing some dental challenges that led to a full extraction, she continues to enjoy life with resilience. She has some eye issues for which she has received treatment, but her eyes don't dampen her spirit or curiosity. Katie is available for adoption via adoption consultant, so that additional information regarding her overall health, known medical history and recommended future care can be discussed with her adopter. That is the purpose of the health waiver flag in her file.
Katie has a particular fondness for being brushed and petted. She'll nuzzle up to you purring contentedly, especially as you stroke her cheeks. This affectionate and calm demeanor makes her an ideal companion for a quiet household where she can bask in the love and attention she so richly deserves. She's looking for a forever home where she can enjoy her golden years surrounded by gentle care and affection.
If you're ready to offer a loving environment to a cat who's full of grace and has plenty of love to give, Katie is waiting to meet you! Please email [email protected] or stop by during our open hours.
Katie is eligible for our Seniors For Seniors program. The purpose of the program is to attempt to place our senior animals with senior citizens in their homes. Special discounted adoption fees are applied when these special matches are identified.

Birdie enrichment
**Birdie has been adopted!!**
The Cat In The Hat was read by an energetic 8 year old boy to energetic 8 year old little darling Birdie. Birdie climbed right into his lap and wanted to snuggle up against his chin. After reading, she was playing ball from her little hut. She’s a good goalie!! Watch how fast she moves!! She wasn’t phased by the excited voice and jumping around of our reader.
Where are those with a soft spot for senior cats? Birdie is an 8 year old who was transferred to ARF at the end of May 2024 from an overcrowded shelter. Upon arrival, she needed treatment for an abscess on her neck. Now that she is on the mend, she is ready to become a companion of a loving person. Birdie is just an itty bitty girl. She is so tiny that visitors may mistake her for being much younger than her actual age. In fact, she weighs all of five pounds. Birdie is not always at the front of her cage when people walk by and her cage is tucked away in a corner which can make it a bit of challenge to get a good look at her. But please know, she is friendly and finds comfort being in the company of people. We would love for you to come by the shelter and ask to spend some time with her in one of our visitation rooms to see if she is a match for you. Birdie is available by consultant; please email [email protected]
Birdie is eligible for our Seniors For Seniors program. The purpose of the program is to attempt to place our senior animals with senior citizens in their homes. Special discounted adoption fees are applied when these special matches are identified.
