Learn Pawsitive is switching to seasonal classes!

Classes kicked off a year ago and we’ve already moved into a bigger classroom. I know, right?! The year has been a bit of a whirlwind! It’s been amazing watching dogs on their training journey. I have learned, though, it is incredibly difficult to juggle a full class load, work with one-on-one clients, and be present at home. Cue seasonal classes. Classes will be held in the Spring (April/May) and Fall (September/October). All the months in-between will give me a more flexible schedule to meet with one-on-one clients, especially those clients who are only able to meet during the evening hours.

Harnesses are a great way to keep your dog safe while walking them, especially for small dogs and puppies. Many harnesses now have the option of attaching the leash on the chest of the harness, which can help while training your dog to walk nicely on the leash. Since many puppies outgrow harnesses quickly, I have harnesses in the Learn Pawsitive Library where puppies (and adult dogs) can trade for gently used harnesses. This helps cut down on your cost by not having to continue to buy new harnesses, gives you a way to help others, and is a great way to help you declutter! If you have some harnesses lying around, come check out the Library where you can trade for food enrichment puzzles (or a bigger harness).

PUPPIES!

Introducing Puppy Play & Train! Each class is a weekly sign-up so you can customize class to meet your schedule. Every week will have a puppy theme and we'll take a break in play to learn basic cues.

Class starts this Saturday, December 4th at 2:00 pm. Join me for lots of play, the theme of "Puppy Teething," and learn how to teach your dog "down" and "stay." Email me at [email protected] to sign up!

THEY'RE BACK!

Walks for reactive dogs (and others who wish to practice) are making a comeback starting in December! These walks are for clients, past and present. If you are interested in the walks and are not a client, email me to set up an initial consultation.

Prior to signing up for a walk, everyone must attend a mandatory no dog presentation with safety information. Presentations are being held on Monday, November 29th and Monday December 13th at 6:30 pm in the Learn Pawsitive Classroom. Please email me to register for the presentation. If you are not able to attend in person, I will have a Google Meet link (similar to Zoom) where you will be able to attend virtually. The walk schedule will be given during the presentation and sign-up will be opened up to those in attendance. If you are interested in the walks but are unavailable to attend one of the presentations, please reach out and let me know.

Classes are in full swing and everyone is having a blast!

I know a lot of you who weren't able to make this session want to see the new place. So... I want to invite you all to my office hours this Saturday (10/30) and next (11/6) between 1:00 - 2:30 pm to look around the classroom and ask any questions you may have. It's been pretty quiet on the Learn Pawsitive page, but that's because we've been extremely busy behind the scenes to bring you all an amazing surprise. I am super excited to announce....

The Learn Pawsitive Classroom!

Classes with Learn Pawsitive go beyond training and teaching your dog to sit. I aim to provide a classroom experience where you get to learn about how your dog is communicating with you through their body language, talk through developmental stages and how they are influencing your dog's behavior, and have question and answer sessions during class to talk about ways to help you and your dog with whatever craziness has been going on during the week. We'll still teach our dog basic cues, but we'll also learn how to use them to help us with our dog in every day life.
