🎉 End of Year Recap: A Year of Saving Lives at Da Vinci's Dream Animal Rescue 🎉

As we wrap up another year of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need, we want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible work we've done together with your support. 🐾

From saving dogs in hoarding situations to rescuing strays from our local community, this year has been filled with heartwarming stories of animals finding their forever homes. But we know there's more work to be done, and we have BIG goals for 2025. 🚗💨

Our New Year’s Resolution: Help Us Purchase a Transport Van!

A transport van will be a game-changer for us. It will allow us to rescue more animals from overcrowded shelters and bring them to adoption events across Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. We need your help to make this happen!

🔹 Why do we need a transport van?

Rescue More Animals: We'll be able to pick up animals from high-risk shelters and transport them to areas with higher adoption rates.
Expand Adoptions: A larger van means more animals can attend adoption events, increasing their chances of finding a forever family.
Save Lives: This van will help us bridge the gap between areas with high surrender rates and those with greater adoption demand.

🌸 Double the Love! Rose and Daisy Have Found Their Forever Home! 🌸

We’re overjoyed to announce that our sweet girls, Rose and Daisy, have been adopted by the incredible Heather and Tod! 🐾💖

Heather and Tod have created a perfect haven for these two pups, with their stunning 8-acre country property complete with two ponds and plenty of room to roam. Heather works from home, ensuring Rose and Daisy receive plenty of love and attention throughout the day. Their daily routine is filled with morning walks, time spent in the home office, and evening strolls to keep the girls happy and active.

This family is well-prepared and experienced. They’ve even trained their dogs to swim safely in their ponds with life preservers! With Heather’s parents living next door and a trusted dogsitter ready to step in when needed, Rose and Daisy have a whole community of care.

A heartfelt thank you to Heather and Tod for providing such a loving and enriching forever home for Rose and Daisy. These two lucky pups are living their best lives, and we couldn’t be happier for them! 💕

We’re thrilled to share that Acacia, now lovingly renamed Trudy, has found her perfect match with Julie and Orville! 💕 This amazing couple is no stranger to our rescue—they previously adopted with us, and now Trudy has a wonderful sister, Abby, to share her life with. 🐾🐶

Julie and Orville are retired and live on a beautiful 12-acre property, giving Trudy plenty of room to explore and play. With their loving care and attention, Trudy is already thriving in her new home. She’s enjoying the peace, joy, and adventure of her new life as part of this amazing family.

A huge thank you to Julie and Orville for choosing adoption again and opening their hearts and home to Trudy. We’re so happy for you all! 🏡❤️

📢 Volunteer Break Announcement: September 16th - 25th

Our amazing volunteer team will be taking a much-needed break from September 16th through September 25th. During this time, we will not be reviewing applications, answering emails, responding to Facebook messages, conducting interview calls, scheduling meet and greets, or handling transports. This break allows our team to spend time with their families and recharge from the 24/7 demands of animal rescue work.

You're still welcome to submit applications before and during this period, but please keep in mind that response times will be delayed. After the break, it may take several days to catch up on applications.

We truly appreciate your understanding and are thrilled to give our volunteers this well-deserved time to relax and enjoy the end of summer. Thank you for your support! 🌞🐾

We’re thrilled to announce that Peppi has found her forever home with Ashley, Kyle, and their wonderful children! 🎉 Peppi is settling into her new life on a charming small farm where she has plenty of space to run and play with the family’s cats, chickens, and bunnies. 🐶🐱🐥🐰

Ashley, a dedicated stay-at-home mom, will be with Peppi throughout the day, ensuring she gets all the love and care she needs. With a fenced-in yard, Peppi can enjoy safe and fun outdoor playtime every day.

Ashley and Kyle have been dog owners for years and have a special place in their hearts for older dogs. They’re committed to providing Peppi with a loving and supportive home where she can feel cherished and secure.

Margo has a beautiful yard where Bambi can run and play, and she’s fully committed to making him her family. After recently losing her two beloved 17-year-old Maine C**n cats, she felt the time was right to welcome a new companion into her life. For years, she’s considered adopting, and now, with her home ready and her heart open, Bambi is the lucky pup who gets to be spoiled with constant interaction and love.

🎉 Adoption Announcement: Garth and Zander 🎉

We are thrilled to announce that Garth and Zander have found their forever home! 🐾 These two boys were discovered by one of our dedicated volunteers, abandoned at a dump. After spending hours gaining their trust, she brought them to safety. Once they realized they were finally safe, they blossomed into the happy, loving pups we knew they could be.

As a large breed bonded pair, finding a home that could take them both wasn’t easy. But thank goodness for Samuel, Ara, and their family! They opened their hearts and home to these two beautiful boys. Garth and Zander now have a fenced yard to play in, and their days are filled with love, play, and plenty of outdoor adventures.

Their new routine includes morning breakfasts, playtime in the yard, afternoon walks, and cozy evenings together. Samuel and Ara's family was searching for the perfect dogs to complete their home, and Garth and Zander were just that. They are committed to giving these boys the best life possible, ensuring they’re up to date on all vaccinations and well cared for.

Most importantly, Garth and Zander have the rest of their lives to be together, in a home where they are cherished. 🐕❤️🐕

🌟 Bentley's Incredible Rescue Journey 🌟

We have a truly heartwarming story to share about Bentley, formerly known as Billy. Bentley was adopted by Zella in June, and he had started to flourish in his new home. But on Wednesday night, August 28th, a fierce storm blew through the area, causing Bentley’s backyard gate to open. Unbeknownst to Zella, the backyard was no longer secure.

The next morning, Thursday, August 29th, Zella let Bentley out, and he slipped through the open gate and disappeared. Bentley, a former puppy mill breeder dog, has been understandably nervous around people. Zella had been making wonderful progress in helping him come out of his shell, but with Bentley missing, the situation was dire.

As soon as Zella realized Bentley was gone, she reached out for help, and our dedicated team sprang into action. Despite the over 3-hour distance from our area of operations, our volunteers mobilized quickly. They set up 7 traps with game cams, searched high and low, and distributed flyers far and wide. They used thermal vision to scan the woods and a drone for aerial views. Our team walked between 12-16 miles each day while searching, with very little food and water breaks. They remained on site, rotating shifts and staying overnight in a local hotel.

On Friday, we received some promising sightings at a nearby golf course, but despite our efforts, Saturday brought no new leads. Our volunteers, however, remained persistent. By Sunday, more sightings in the same area came in. Late that night, after a long day, a game cam finally captured the much-anticipated image—Bentley was in a trap!

Our team rushed to the trap, and Bentley was safely brought back to Zella’s home. Although he was dirty, hungry, and tired, he was finally safe. Shaken but overjoyed, Bentley was reunited with his family. After ensuring Bentley was comfortable, the team headed back to their hotel for the night. Early the next morning, they collected the traps and game cams, returned to Zella’s, and checked on Bentley. They secured the gate with locks and inspected the fence for any weak points. Bentley was safe and secure, and our team could finally head home knowing their mission was accomplished.

Our heartfelt thanks go to our incredible team of volunteers who worked tirelessly from August 29th to September 2nd. Zella has aptly named them "Earth Angels," and we couldn’t agree more. Their dedication, perseverance, and compassion brought Bentley home safely, and we are immensely grateful for their unwavering commitment.

Thank you, team, for showing what true rescue spirit looks like. Bentley is back where he belongs, and it’s all thanks to your hard work and determination. 🐾❤️

🎉 Adoption Announcement: Hagrid 🎉

We’re overjoyed to share that Hagrid has found his forever home with Suzan! 🏡🐾 Hagrid now has two wonderful dog brothers, Bully, a bully mix, and Gizzy, a pug. They have a fenced yard to explore, filled with toys and space to play, and even a special ramp that leads to the patio for easy access.

Suzan is devoted to her dogs' happiness and well-being. Her dogs are never alone for more than 4 hours, and when she's gone, a trusted caregiver steps in. The pups enjoy a routine that includes early morning outdoor time, delicious meals, and plenty of lounging on their 6-foot bean bag or in their numerous dog beds. They also get to explore beyond the yard for a change of scenery.

Suzan's love for animals is evident in everything she does. From feeding the birds and squirrels to home-cooking meals for her dogs, she prioritizes their comfort and emotional well-being above all else. Her deep connection with animals, especially those who have faced hardship, makes her the perfect mom for Hagrid.

We’re so happy for Hagrid and his new family. Here’s to many happy days of love, play, and peaceful moments together! 🐕❤️
