Yesterday, we gave two pups their freedom ride from a harsh shelter with no climate control, unreliable feeding/cleaning schedules, and no public access. Shelters are tough places for puppies, especially unvaccinated ones, due to the potential diseases. Huge shout out to @bettertogetherdogrescue for getting them out of there. While we are so excited to get these two out, there are still a handful there who have been there longer and are starting to show signs of being in a kennel for too long. If you can graciously open your home to foster one of the dogs at this pound, please reach out to us. We can give you all the info needed.
Want to help save the lives of the kitties in your community? #1 Spay & Neuter your pets and educate those around you. Its really the only way to quell the overpopulation problem. The more cats & dogs able to give birth the more babies produced. Therefore, the more people breeding cats & dogs… the more cats & dogs that get euthanized for space at the shelter. Its the sad truth that folks in the rescue world battle with every day. So do your part! Because honestly your “purebred” ain't that cool… we probably have seen that same dog 400 times at local shelters. 2. Fostering saves two lives. The animal that will be in your home and the animal that is taking its spot at the shelter. Giving an animal the experience of staying at your home is invaluable to potential adopters and oftentimes is what can help seal the deal on an adoption. The shelter or rescue gives you all the supplies you'll need. The only thing required is some space in your home and love. 3. Volunteer! It doesn't matter where, shelter, rescue, transport, and so on. Getting out into your community is so important. Know where your tax-paying money is going… because (SUPRISE) it probably isn't your local shelter. Local shelters would love to have another hand to walk dogs, do laundry, fill up kongs, sit in the cat rooms, or foster. 4. Adopt! We are constantly shocked by the amount of people who are still buying from breeders because shelter dogs are sickly or “have issues.” Actually, it's the opposite. Shelters have a full rundown on most dogs because of amazing shelter employees and volunteers who have spent time with them. Not to mention you're adopting a pet who has been vetted and is already spayed or neutered (two birds, one kibble). So go look out for your fellow community animals because they need you as much as we need them.
We don’t know who needs to hear this but… there are over 6 million animals entering shelters in the U.S. every year, hoping for a second chance. 🐶🐱 So go adopt that cute kitten or foster the adorable pup you saw at the shelter because one pet out of the shelter saves two lives—the one you bring home and the one that takes its place in the shelter.

Behind every successful transport is a vet's dedication! Lucky for us we have Dr G. and Dr Linda to sign off on health certificates and give these pups their rabies vaccines, getting them one step closer to their forever homes.
Health Certificate Day!!!! These are exciting days for the pups and kitties that come through our doors. They get to leave the shelter FOREVER, get a health check-up, load up on our transport van, and get to their new rescue that will find them a home.
Happy National Pet Day! Don't forget, there's a lot of pets out there looking for a family to call their own. If you're looking for a life long friend, be sure to check out your local shelters and animal rescues.
Health Certificate day means all the little pups and big pups get vaccinated! While they don't get a spoonful of sugar to wash it down, they do get lots of snuggles, maybe some spray cheese, and the hope of a brighter future ahead 💕
This is why we rescue! Benson and Amelia came into the shelter as buddies with wounds (Amelia is missing half her jaw) and not a lot of time left to live. Luckily, they got tagged by @carecolumbus812 and soon after adopted by wonderful families... who happen to live just down the road from one another! We're notcrying, you are!Endings this happy are few and far between in the rescue world.
Think you can only get fancy breeds from a breeder? Check your surrounding shelters. They prob have what you’re looking for.
Celebrating 7,000 animals rescues from Tennessee shelters in just under 3 years! Our vans have traveled to 11 states and over 235,000 miles to give these animals a second chance at life.Thank you to all the volunteers, donors, and supporters of CASA for helping us make this possible.
Shelter dogs are incredibly resilient. While these photos of scared dogs are ones we've taken, all these dogs, once given the chance of a lifetime to have a home, have become the most loving and wonderful family members.
These are the moments that remind us to keep going. Rescuing isn’t easy but man, it’s so worth it. 🥹🙌🏽💕

Yappy is on a journey to find his forever family... But not before his health exam. Behind every successful transport lies a crucial step: a thorough health assessment. 🩺🐶
Ensuring that these companion animals are healthy before their travels not only safeguards their well-being but also guarantees a smooth transition into their new lives.
Health certificate exams are a testament to our dedication and commitment to the welfare of the animals that come into our care.
These exams ensure that Yappy and his fellow companions are healthy, free from contagious diseases & parasites, receive preventatives, and are ready to embrace their exciting new chapter with open paws!
Last week at CASA...
We started with a Health Certificate day, ensuring our animals are fit for their new adventures. Then, we embarked on a journey to Illinois and Indiana, transporting some precious souls to our awesome rescue partners. 🚐💨
But it didn’t stop there! We held two Surgery days, helping 45 adorable companions get spayed & neutered. Our dedicated team made sure they’re all set for a brighter future!
Our work never ends, as we cleaned out crates and continue to prepare for tomorrow’s surgery day for 28 more little warriors. Their second chance at life is our greatest motivation!
