PAALS - Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services We train assistance dogs to help people with disabilities live more independent lives.

Our mission is to enrich and empower children and adults with physical disabilities and social needs by training service dogs and providing animal assisted educational and recreational activities. PAALS trains assistance dogs to help individuals with disabilities other than blindness or deafness. These dogs can help with a vast array of tasks to assist with physical disabilities and social needs.

Our assistance dogs to help individuals with mobility disabilities, veterans and others with PTSD/TBI and children with autism. We also train facility dogs who work with a professional in a variety of health, education or rehabilitation facilities. We also conduct many programs within our community to educated about service dogs and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

This Fourth of July, we’re celebrating freedom, independence, and the life-changing partnerships between our service dogs and the people they serve.

Whether it’s helping a veteran navigate the world with confidence or supporting someone with mobility challenges, PAALS dogs empower their partners to live more independently every day. 🐶💙

As we celebrate our country’s freedom today, we’re also grateful to be part of the journey toward personal freedom for so many amazing individuals.

🌞🐾 We Made It Through Week One of PAALS Summer Camp! 🎉🐶

What an incredible first week at PAALS Summer Camp! Our campers had a pawesome time learning all about service dogs, from anatomy and training to teamwork and communication. 🧠🐕‍🦺

They practiced giving cues, made enrichment toys, helped with grooming, and most importantly… made some furry new best friends! 💙

We laughed, learned, and had a tail-wagging good time every single day. Thank you to all the amazing campers, parents, volunteers, and, of course, our superstar dogs for making the first week of camp so unforgettable!
