R Veterinary would like to give a special shout out to all of the Animal Shelter workers in our community. Thank you for everything that you do in rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals in need within our community.

We would like to highlight and introduce you to a very special little girl in need of a furever home! Meet “Pecan” a chocolate Labrador puppy! This sweetheart was in the clinic today and she was simply adorable. She is full of love and is just looking for that special family to give it to.

Pecan is available for adoption through the Unchained Melodies Dog Rescue in Columbia.

Dr. Schwenn-Foster has brought us a very cute baby goat patient today. This little guy wasn’t getting enough nutrition from his mom and almost didn’t make it last night. So now he’s going to be a daily visitor so we can ensure he gets all the nutrition and of course cuddles that he needs to thrive!

Hello R Veterinary family!!! Exciting follow up news from our previous post. We would like to have another huge warm welcome for our newest addition to our team Dr. Josey Bush!!! We are so excited to have her join our team! She will spend most days at our Columbia location but will make weekly visits to our Ashland location as well! Great news for both of our clinics!!
A little about Dr. Bush:
Dr. Josey Bush was born and raised in Koshkonong, Missouri. She received her bachelors degree in Animal Science from the University of Missouri. She then stayed at Mizzou to attend veterinary school and graduated in 2023. She practiced as a mixed animal general practitioner for one year before moving back to Columbia and joining the R veterinary team. She lives with her boyfriend and their two dogs, George and Indie. In her free time, she loves to be outside, read, and spend time with her dogs. Some of her small animal interests include dentistry and dermatology. Her large animal interests include reproductive medicine and routine preventative care.

Hello R Veterinary family!
We would like to introduce one of our new doctors Dr. Megan Claxton! She is our main doctor at the Ashland location but makes a weekly visit to Columbia as well!

Dr. Megan Claxton was born in the U.S. Virgin Islands but grew up in Tampa, FL. She received her bachelor's degree in Biology from Pittsburg State University in Kansas and graduated from the University of Missouri in May of 2021. She and her husband love to go fishing and spend a lot of their time outdoors. In her free time, she loves to read and spend time with her 5 dogs, 2 cats, cow, 2 horses, 15 goats, and her bearded dragon. Her interests include surgery, oral health and preventative medicine.

Our team is so happy to have her and I hope you all join us in welcoming Dr. Claxton!
