Hello R Veterinary family!!! Exciting follow up news from our previous post. We would like to have another huge warm welcome for our newest addition to our team Dr. Josey Bush!!! We are so excited to have her join our team! She will spend most days at our Columbia location but will make weekly visits to our Ashland location as well! Great news for both of our clinics!!
A little about Dr. Bush:
Dr. Josey Bush was born and raised in Koshkonong, Missouri. She received her bachelors degree in Animal Science from the University of Missouri. She then stayed at Mizzou to attend veterinary school and graduated in 2023. She practiced as a mixed animal general practitioner for one year before moving back to Columbia and joining the R veterinary team. She lives with her boyfriend and their two dogs, George and Indie. In her free time, she loves to be outside, read, and spend time with her dogs. Some of her small animal interests include dentistry and dermatology. Her large animal interests include reproductive medicine and routine preventative care.

Hello R Veterinary family!
We would like to introduce one of our new doctors Dr. Megan Claxton! She is our main doctor at the Ashland location but makes a weekly visit to Columbia as well!

Dr. Megan Claxton was born in the U.S. Virgin Islands but grew up in Tampa, FL. She received her bachelor's degree in Biology from Pittsburg State University in Kansas and graduated from the University of Missouri in May of 2021. She and her husband love to go fishing and spend a lot of their time outdoors. In her free time, she loves to read and spend time with her 5 dogs, 2 cats, cow, 2 horses, 15 goats, and her bearded dragon. Her interests include surgery, oral health and preventative medicine.

Our team is so happy to have her and I hope you all join us in welcoming Dr. Claxton!
Call today for an appointment in Ashland or in Columbia. We are open Monday- Friday from 7:30am - 5:30pm at both locations. We are still open from 8am to 12pm on Saturday’s in Columbia!

Happy National Puppy Day!

This cutie that our manager Liam is holding is Josie a Bernese Mountain Dog and was such a doll for her vaccine appointment!

Puppies need to get at least 3 Distemper-Parvo vaccines to be considered fully vaccinated along with their Rabies. They receive this vaccine starting at 8 weeks of age and boosted every 3-4 weeks. Call us at 573-443-7274 to schedule your pups vaccines!

She discusses cannabis toxicity in pets with the recent law passing recreational use, and what kind of treatment is involved if this was to happen to your pet. It is always important to be honest with your veterinarian in these cases to ensure the right treatment is being done to get your pet back to their healthy self!
