Thank you Harmon Classics for hosting our third SCHJA Derby of the year at Derby Mania with a competitive field of 32, making it our biggest derby yet!

The win went to Jennifer Barker aboard Sydnie Suarez’s “Gaspar Mail,” with scores of 82.5 and 89 to top the class.

Reserve honors went to “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” with Shea Fennelly who also takes our $500 incentive bonus for the top placing junior rider and third to “Nashville” with Meredith Gallagher.

Our $300.00 bonus goes to our second highest placing junior/amateur, Evelyn Schenck aboard Christy Conway’s “Answer Me This” with a 5th Place finish and $200.00 to Savannah Roberts aboard her own “Page Turner,” with a 6th Place finish.

News Alert!!

As we start to work toward our 2024 SCHJA Palmetto Medal & Derby Finals, we are thrilled to welcome our new show manager, Bill Yeager of Partridge Run Jumps & Horse Show Management.

Bill is excited to bring his beautiful jumps, course designing and management skills to the South Carolina Equine Park, Your Camden Showgrounds for another great finals horse show on December 6-8, 2024.

Join us for three days of showing for DOUBLE POINTS to kick off the 2025 season with daily hospitality, exhibitor parties and our 2024 year-end banquet.

The South Carolina Hunter Jumper Association is saddened to learn of the passing of our board member and friend, Robert Obermiller, after a long battle with cancer. Robert was a long-time supporter of our SCHJA horse shows, a wonderful steward and a friend to our horses and to all of us. He worked hard to ensure that horse shows were run well and that the welfare of the horses came first. We will miss his friendly smile and support at the ingate and are sending lots of love to all of his friends and loved ones.

Thank you Progressive Show Jumping for running the second $1500 SCHJA Derby of the show season at the Camden Spring Classic!

The win went to Luke Tanner aboard his own "Fernhill Divergent" trained by Jennifer Barker. Luke is also the recipient of the $500.00 High Point Junior/Amateur Incentive Bonus!

Second Place honors went to Charmaine Carpenter's "Remoulade" ridden by Mary Wooten.

Third Place went to Sydnie Suarez's "Gaspar Mail" ridden by Jennifer Barker.

Our $300.00 Junior/Amateur Incentive Bonus went to Evelyn Schenk for her 4th Place finish aboard Christy Conway's "Answer Me This," with the $200.00 Bonus going to Mary Ruth Duncan for her 5th Place finish on her own "Fiddler."

We kicked off our 2024 SCHJA Derby series over the weekend at the annual Ashley Hall Horse Show at Mullet Hall Equestrian Center.

Ella Hudson took the win in the $1500 SCHJA Hunter Derby on her own “Definitely” trained by Sally Martin. She will also take home our High Point Junior/Amateur incentive bonus of $500.00.

Anna Morrow took the 2nd Place finish on Stephanie Saunders’ “My Beau,” trained by Charles Hairfield.

Connie Lena’s “Lalique” and Josslyn Reavis took the 3rd Place prize, trained by Connie Lena, and also received $300.00 for being the second highest placing junior/amateur.

Izzabel Kritz and her own "My Patronous" took the 4th Place finish and will receive $200.00 for being the third highest placing junior/amateur rider.

Thank you everyone for a wonderful end of 2023, and incredible start to 2024 with SCHJA.

A couple faces we were very much missing this weekend. Our sweet Wanda, personally I think she sent us the good weather from up above for our Finals horse show. We all miss her dearly.

And Robert, as he battles health struggles and was unable to attend this year.

Hope you both know how valued you are in our community.

Thank you to the South Carolina Equine Park, Your Camden Showgrounds for allowing us to put up a very well deserved reminder for all of what they both have done to support all the riders, trainers, and spectators of the SCHJA.

We will be open for AUDITS until NEXT MONDAY, November 27 and then points will be finalized for the banquet. Don't forget to check your standings and contact us ASAP if an error has been made.

After many requests, we are excited to be adding the Children's Pony Hunter division for the 2024 show season, which will begin at the 2023 SCHJA Palmetto Medal & Derby Finals Horse Show!

Children's Hunter Pony
Open to all ponies not showing in a rated division, ridden by a junior rider not showing over fences exceeding 2'9" at that horse show. To be judged on performance and soundness. Small/medium ponies to jump 2', large ponies may elect to jump 2'3" or 2'6".
