As Professional Pet Sitters Week is coming to an end we want to thank you for making our sitters feel loved & appreciated 💜 Pet Sitting is such a fun and rewarding job but it's not without down sides like long hours, working in crappy weather, no sick days, & no holidays. All those things aren't so bad when we see how happy the pets and their owners are with the care we provide 🙂 Thank you all for your support!

Meet Our Sitters:

Anya is our sitter who's officially been with us the shortest length of time but has the longest amount of experience with YPOM! Being our daughter she has been apart of this team from the very beginning. As a toddler she would tag along to the visits to snuggle up and play with the pets and as she got older she would help entertain the dogs staying at camp Urban 🙂 She has been a big help in making YPOM what it is today!

Meet Our Sitters:

Even though Kate's only worked for us officially for about 2 years now she has always been our live in sitter when we would go away for the last 20 years. She has gotten to tend the menagerie of special needs pets as well as all the visiting ones coming to our home during the times we are on vacation. Lol. She never turns down the challenge of the chaos that is camp Urban 😁 her veterinary background & big heart make her a huge asset to our team!

Our Story

My name is Jessica Urban, I live with my husband Matt, and my two children Anya and Austin in Columbia, Pennsylvania. We own dogs, cats, and even turtles. I have been working at Harrisburg Pike Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant since October of 2000. Matt has also been working as a part time kennel assistant at the same hospital since 2002. We have been pet sitting for the animal hospital clients since 2002 and have enjoyed it so much that after ten years we turned it into a full time family owned business. So began, “Your Place or Mine Pet Sitting”.

We are fully insured and bonded. We insist that our team come from a veterinary medicine background and can pass a criminal background check.

Through our wide array of pet sitting services we are able to provide pet owners with a healthy, less stressful lifestyle. Not only do we provide care when a client is away for work or vacation, we will also help out when an owner is recovering from surgery or an illness. We will assist owners with medications, IV catheters, fluid therapy, etc so their pet doesn’t have to get stressed out by going back and forth to the vet.
