From 9am to 5pm, drop off canned food, cleaning supplies, toys, and more to support our community pet food pantry and the animals Columbia Animal Services. Every contribution counts! Thank you to those who participated in the "Photos With Santa Paws" Event this past weekend. SantaSC (website: santasc.com) had all the dogs loving him! If you missed out, we hope to have him back again next year. Those of you who did attend, pictures should be sent out the week of Nov. 22nd!

We raised $700 for local animal shelters during the event (WOOO). This will be donated this holiday season as well as our annual donation of $2,000 for a total donation of $2,700!!! All of the money will be split five ways and donated to five local shelters: Pets Inc., Palmetto Lifeline, Animal Mission, Final Victory, and SQ Rescue. Wow, how amazing is that!! Want to donate? As we enter this Holiday Season, I just wanted to reach out to let all of you know how much we, myself and the board, appreciate each and every one of you. NoMa Bark Park is making a difference in the community and we can only do it with the help of awesome people.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Annual Meeting this week! We had a great turn out- members were able to meet the board and discuss past and future events with the park!

Happy Meet The Board Monday! This week's board advisor is Catherine and her hound mixes, Duke and Jackson.

Catherine is our previous board Chair and has been helping Lauren with her transition into that role. She has been a member since 2015 and served on the board from 2019-2021 before stepping into an advisor role.

Catherine is originally from southwest Virginia and moved to Columbia when her husband was stationed at Fort Jackson. She is the HR manager for a local contract security company. Fun fact- she is missing two teeth! This is a genetic quirk that runs in her family.

Besides going to NoMa, Catherine like to take her pups swimming in the Saluda River. Duke especially loves to swim since he was adopted in Key West. Jackson likes to splish-splash around in the shallow water too.

Catherine wants our members to know that "serving on the board is a great way to give back to a place we and our dogs all love." If you are interested in joining, keep an eye out for a post later this week for information on how to get involved!

Happy Meet The Board Monday! This week we begin introducing you to our board advisors. A board advisor is a non-voting person who provides their expertise and guidance to the voting members of the board. Our first board advisor is Tom Kelly and his pups Major and Tab.

Tom is the owner of Contented Canines, a local dog training and behavior modification business. He previously served on the board from 2015-2019 and has been advising since then. Tom's expertise is often called upon when the board is handling reported dog incidents. He has also led dog behavior seminars for our members where he teaches owners proper dog park etiquette and how to handle different scenarios that can arise.

Tom is one of 8 siblings and a third generation army officer. After 29+ years of service, Tom retired from the army and stayed in Columbia which was his last assignment. He now spends his days running Contented Canines and enjoying many of the dog-friendly coffee and beer establishments Columbia has to offer.

Tom wants our members to know that "I am a Starmark Academy certified dog trainer and canine behavior specialist, a CHRI certified Relationship Based Trainer and a professional member of the International Association of Canine Professionals."

Happy Meet The Board Monday! This week's board member is EuGenia and her dog Winston.

While EuGenia is brand new to the board, she has actually been a member of the park for 7 years! She is from Columbia originally and currently works at UPS. In her free time, EuGenia loves to read paranormal romance.

Happy Meet The Board Monday! This week's board member is Beverly and her German Shephard mix Essa.

Beverly has been a park member for 5 years and joined the board a few months ago. She is originally from the Bahamas but came to Columbia after her service in the military and has been here for 35 years!

While overseas, Beverly studied belly dancing and loved it so much she became a certified instructor. She has taught classes and perform at events in Augsburg, Germany. She's happy to teach the art to anyone interested.

Essa is Beverly's service dog. They love to use the park as part of their exercise and you may notice Essa behaving in work mode, where she only interacts with Beverly. Once their exercises are dog for the day, Beverly would love our members to approach her and Essa so she can get to know you. (Check out the comment section below for a picture of sweet Essa).
