Meet Kim!
I realized at a young age that I wanted to work with animals and started when I was in high school. I have been working at SCVSEC 12.5 years, 9 of which were in Oncology and I continue to learn something new every day. I have 3 fur babies: Rahjah, a chihuahua mix, she is the boss. Katrina, DSH who thinks she is a dog/human, and the newest member, Dahlia, Shepherd Mallinois mix puppy. It's a crazy bunch but I would not have it any other way. I enjoy helping my team to grow in their skills and knowledge and jumping in the trenches with them.

Meet Lauren! I've worked in the veterinary field since 2012. I started at a general practice until I decided to go to vet tech school to get licensed. I graduated from Piedmont Technical College in 2018 and became an LVT. I actually started at SCVSEC as an extern in 2018 and fell in love with the fast pace and cases of emergency and have been there since graduating. I have one very spoiled Doberman and a couple of reptiles. I enjoy hiking, reading, and kayaking.

Sonia has extensive experience in emergency veterinary medicine. She is interested in learning more about specialty services. She is fluent in Spanish and enjoys translating to improve the client experience. Sonia thinks it's important to have fun at work while doing the best job you can.

Meet Ashley!
She recently joined our team at SCVEC after living in New Mexico for the past 40 years. She became a registered veterinary technician 13 years ago. She enjoys wildlife photography and gardening in her free time. Her favorite color is green.

Meet Jennifer! Her favorite color is haint blue/teal blue and her favorite animal is a bear. She loves photography, drawing, painting, kayaking, and hiking. She went to school at Piedmont Technical College and obtained her license two years ago.

Nicole was born and raised in New Jersey and moved to South Carolina in 2015. She started her career in veterinary medicine in 2006. Nicole graduated vet tech school and became licensed in 2009. She wanted to become a vet tech because of her love for animals and wanted to be able to help them. Most of her career has been spent in emergency medicine. She enjoys the different challenges the emergency field faces every day. Outside of work Nicole loves spending time with her husband Ryan and their daughter Kayleigh. They have one dog named Zayda and she is a flat-coated retriever/border collie mix.

Hello my name is Naomi. I have been a LVT since 2008 . I am a graduate of the Vet Tech Institute. Most of my experience has been in the ICU. I took a hiatus from the field in 2017 but my heart eventually pulled me back to the field. I started with SCVSEC in 2022 in the Oncology department. I currently am the Chemo technician working alongside an amazing oncology team as well a as wonderfully talented team of veterinary professionals. I enjoy gardening, dancing, skydiving, and travel.

Ace Raines is our most recent chemotherapy graduate. Ace presented to oncology in September 2024 to start treatment for her Osteosarcoma after surgical removal of her left hind limb. Ace received 6 treatments of Carboplatin and is doing very well. Ace is a very sweet girl!

We would like to recognize our CSR, Chanada for being our Employee of the Month! Chanada is always friendly, warm and compassionate when dealing with our emergency and specialty clientele. When you walk into our lobby, you will always be greeted with a smile. Chanada is a team player and is on our Pawsitive Awards Committee that recognizes and rewards our staff members. She is a fantastic chef and cooks for our staff members often! Chanada is a one of a kind team member and her dedication has not gone unnoticed! Congratulations Chanada, we appreciate all you do!
