We offer a low cost alternative for getting your pets spayed and neutered. Run by the same people that brought you the Animal Emergency Clinic of Maury County, we have been performing low cost spay and neuter in Columbia since 2003. We want to help you by making your pets healthier and to help the community by decreasing the number of unwanted/homeless/stray dogs and cats at large.

You may have noticed a new friendly face here at the clinic the last few weeks. We would like to formally introduce our new doctor, Jamie Woodard, DVM! She is a 2010 graduate of the University of Tennessee. Dr. Woodard has her own slew of critters that she cares for, and that includes cats, dogs, horses, and goats. We are so grateful to have her on our team to help us help all the cats and dogs in need of services. Pictured here is Dr. Woodard and one of her personal kitties, Carly! Carly is a visually impaired kitty who enjoys riding around on Dr. Woodard. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Woodard!

Like many other businesses, staffing has become an issue for us here at the Veterinary Wellness Clinic of Columbia. There are so many pets in our community that need help, and we want to be able to help as many of them as we can. In an effort to staff more appropriately, we have decided it is necessary to close our office on Sundays. This decision was not an easy one to make. Our staff has been working longer than normal hours to try to accommodate helping as many patients as possible. Many of our staff, in addition to working extra hours, are working extra days in an effort to help us keep up with the volume of patients needing to be seen. Closing on Sundays will also help the support staff and doctors maintain a more realistic work-life balance. We thank you for your understanding and patience as we move forward with this schedule change. Should you need emergency care on Sundays, we recommend going to BluePearl Pet Hospital (615-333-1212) or Animal Medical Center (615-622-2114).

We have been seeing an increase in canine upper respiratory illnesses in our canine friends over the last couple weeks. We are currently noticing this illness in dogs that have been boarded, groomed, or been at a dog park. If your dog is showing signs of upper respiratory issues, please get your pup seen. If you are one who’s dog boards, grooms, or goes to dog parks, please make sure your canine friend's Bordetella and Canine Flu vaccines are up to date. Additionally, get those vaccines boosted at least two weeks prior to visiting those places so the vaccine has a chance to work.
