We will be closed Friday February 28th and Saturday March 1st for Continuing Education at Mississippi State. We will resume normal business hours on Monday March 3rd.

We will be closed tomorrow Wednesday January 22nd due to the road conditions. We will reopen Thursday morning at our normal time of 7:30.

We’re taking a break to celebrate the holidays with our loved ones! Our office will be closed from Tuesday, December 24th through Thursday, December 26th. We will be back caring for your pets on Friday, December 27th. From all of us at Marion Pet Care, we wish you and your furry family members a very merry and blessed Christmas!

We love a good success story! Everybody meet Lucy. She came to us for some urinary problems, and we discovered bladder stones on her X-rays that needed to be surgically removed.  To our surprise, Lucy also had something else lurking in her abdomen...a tumor on her spleen! So Lucy's surgery turned into a double whammy - a splenectomy (spleen removal) as well as a cystotomy (bladder stone removal).

Her tumor was diagnosed as a histiocytic sarcoma, which doesn't usually occur how Lucy's case did. After consulting with an oncology specialist, we decided to pursue chemotherapy that could be done at the clinic. Chemotherapy in animals is not as scary as it sounds! Lucy did not go bald, nor did she have any serious side effects from her medication which was an oral dose on a schedule over a few weeks.

Lucy recently came in for her recheck to make sure there was no cancer detected now that her chemotherapy treatment is finished. We are so excited that Lucy is currently cancer free! We don't have a bell to ring, so my Mississippi State cowbell will just have to do!

Marion Pet Care will be closed for appointments this Friday and Saturday (February 23-24) for a staff continuing education conference at Mississippi State’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Our lobby will have limited hours on Friday for filling medication and scheduling appointments with our receptionist. We will resume regular business hours on Monday, February 26. February is National Pet Dental Health Month! 🦷 🪥 For both dogs and cats, dental care plays a vital role in the overall health of your pet. If left untreated, dental disease can lead to serious (and costly!) health issues. We are offering a 10% discount on dental procedures scheduled for the month of February. Call to have a dental health screening with our technicians to evaluate your pet's dental concerns. If your pet is older or has other medical issues, we can schedule an appointment for a comprehensive exam to meet your pets individual needs.
