Our staff enjoyed a fun holiday party today, complete with yummy food, trash Santa and beanie hats for everyone!
We are so very grateful to Petco Love for a $35,000 grant we received last year. We’ve recently completed our project of adding 16 more play yards for our sweet pups! They love getting to spend more time outside playing each day!
🎥🎥Watch along as our volunteer coordinator, Shondra, gives a tutorial on how to make Treat Bombs.
🐾🐾You can volunteer and come to the shelter and make these or make them at home and drop them off!
All you'll need is toilet paper OR paper towel rolls and small treats or pupperoni cut into pieces.
Outside playtime!
💙💚Check out our dogs having fun at playtime!
🐾🐾These are just a few of the dogs you help when you donate to Shelby Humane.
📌📌We're gearing up for Giving Tuesday- it's less than 3 weeks away.

Yesterday's Pet of the Week segment on WBRC 6 News. Microsoft and Ubison (the kittens) did great 😀
Thanks to a grant from Petco Love, we have new fenced areas in our play yard. The first ten are complete with 6 more to come. This has quadrupled the number of spaces we have outside and will allow the dogs to have more outdoor time!
😺😺Our sweet kittens and cats are in need of food. 😺😺
💚Kittens: Purina kitten chow (dry food) and Fancy Feast kitten (wet food)
💙Cats: Purina cat chow (dry food) and Friskies (wet food)
⭐️These are our preferred brands, but we will be happy to take other kinds for donations!
🛒You can drop off at Shelby Humane (381 McDow Rd. Columbiana) or order from our Amazon wishlist and have them shipped directly to the shelter: https://amzn.to/4eVR3BH
Sweet dogs up for adoption at Poochella today! #poochella2024
Melissa contacted us to share an update on her adopted dog:
“We adopted Barney in June and he is finally settling in! He is the smaller beagle on the right. Copper is his 4 year-old brother, and this is how they greet their dad every day when he gets home from work!”
We are thrilled to hear that Barney is doing well and has a new best friend!
In case you missed it, here's our Pet of the Week segment on WBRC 6 News from earlier this week. Pices & Aries are just precious!
