One of our longest residents at the shelter, she is 2-years-old and 36 pounds and has been with us since July 8.
🥰🥰While she may not be a fan of cats, Zola is friendly and loves human companionship. She's dog-selective, so she would do best as the only dog in the home or schedule a meet and greet with your dog is needed.
🐾🐾If you're looking for a loyal and loving furry friend, consider giving Zola the forever home she deserves.

🐶Nick: 2-years-old, 61 pounds. He is energetic, excellent on a leash, extroverted, friendly, treat motivated and squishy.
🐶Maya: 4-months-old, 20 pounds. She is well behaved and knows how to sit, calm, friendly, introverted and squishy.
🐱Scrooget: 2-years-old, 6 pounds. She is shy and introverted.
🐱Feral Roki: 6-years-old, 13 pounds. She has attitude and is shy and feral. Since she is a barn cat, her adoption fee is waived.

“This is Archer (formerly Jessie) and we adopted him last month! I really think he adopted us! If you’re a Swiftie, you know where his name is from! I came in looking for a kitty, and he got my attention right away! He was doing all the cute kitty things! Rolling and wanting to play! He has brought so much joy into our home! He loves snuggles and his dog siblings! He doesn’t run and hide, but would rather follow you around like a puppy! He has to be near his humans at all times! We call him the arch man, and he will come when called. He really is the best boy, and even loves all things Christmas! ❤️ His favorite has been roasting by the fire place!
Thanks Shelby Humane, for all you do! We love having arch man home for Christmas!

🐶🐶Mums, a 5-year-old sweetheart that is patiently waiting for her forever family. Though a bit shy at first, her gentle nature and loving heart shine through.
Once she warms up, her tail wags with pure joy, and her soulful eyes light up.
💙💚Mums is a dream on a leash, making her the perfect best friend for walks and adventures and lots of snuggles! She yearns for a loving home where she can receive all the cuddles and attention she deserves.
Mums is spending time out of the shelter in a foster home, but a meet and greet can be arranged!

Giving out pig ears to all the dogs! These were generously donated by Fancy Fur Pet Grooming & Boutique.

All of the dogs got a new Christmas blanket. Thank you to The Animal League of Birmingham for donating all of these!

All the dogs got a post-lunch walk in the beautiful sunshine!

The dogs were so excited to get their special Christmas lunch! Ground turkey, vegetables, sweet potatoes and a roll. They also enjoyed a special treat for dessert!

Check out all of our sweet dogs available for adoption! Adults (over 6 months) are only $5. Please give these babies a home!

Our staff enjoyed a fun holiday party today, complete with yummy food, trash Santa and beanie hats for everyone!

We are so very grateful to Petco Love for a $35,000 grant we received last year. We’ve recently completed our project of adding 16 more play yards for our sweet pups! They love getting to spend more time outside playing each day!

🎥🎥Watch along as our volunteer coordinator, Shondra, gives a tutorial on how to make Treat Bombs. 🐾🐾You can volunteer and come to the shelter and make these or make them at home and drop them off! All you'll need is toilet paper OR paper towel rolls and small treats or pupperoni cut into pieces.
