"Now named Tucker, her is adjusting perfectly! He was not thrilled about bath time, but he quickly forgave me with a treat and cuddles afterward. I told him to go lay down, and to my surprise, he actually did! And, of course, he had to get one of his many toys to sleep with."

🐾🐾 Meet Belle! She is a 3-year-old black and tan beauty with a personality to match her good looks.

🥰🥰She is friendly, super affectionate and just wants to be loved. She is a hugger too and will already sit on command!

🐶🐶She also has a playful side and should make a great family pet. She is longing for a home to take her in and provide her the playtime and love she deserves!

Report from a volunteer who picked up Belle for a break from the shelter through the Weekend Warrior Program:
“Belle is a great dog for a weekend guest. She got along great with my two male dogs and became part of the pack in a day. I enjoyed hosting her. Energetic, gentle, likes car rides, likes playing in water, running buddy, house broken, loves toys, affectionate, cuddly, gives kisses, playful.”

"I am so excited to share that Holly (Momma Christmas) has found her perfect forever home! Thanks to Shelby Humane and Best Friends of Shelby Humane, she was able to overcome her past and is now so loved by her family.
At 10 years old, she came into the shelter with her litter of 3-month old puppies. It was clear that she had many litters, but now she gets to love on human kids of her own in her family. She was super scared in the shelter, but now she knows nothing but happiness.

Casey shared:
“We adopted Walt (formerly Tiny Tim) just over a year ago, and we are so thankful for this gentle giant! He is thriving--loves his treats, playing with squeaky toys, long walks outside, and sleeping on the couch beside his people. We are moving soon and plan to get another dog for a buddy for Walt! We will definitely adopt from Shelby Humane when the time comes. Thank you for all you do!”

🐶Precious is a 2-year-old female who weighs 98 pounds.
Her attributes are: extrovert, friendly, friendly toward strangers and treat motivated.
Our volunteer coordinator said, "Precious is so very affectionate! She is so fluffy and sweet. When I sat down, she came right over and put her head on my lap for love and pets. She would benefit from lots of attention and affection."

🐾🐾PUPDATE: Larry was adopted today!!

🐶🐶 Larry is still looking for his forever home!
He is 4-years-old, 43 pounds, and his adoption fee has already been sponsored!

He spent time with Dana in weekend warrior recently and she wanted to share about him:

⭐️⭐️"He is definitely crate trained. We put him in a crate to sleep at night and he was absolutely perfect. Immediately laid down and didn’t make a single peep. We put him in there a few other times for short moments just because we didn’t want to leave him out unattended. Each time the same thing.

🚗🚗 He was equally great in the car. I put him in the far back and he just laid down and didn’t make a peep the whole 35 min drive.

🦮🦮He was good on a leash. Pulled a little bit but not much. Very easy to guide him. He didn't pull against me hard at all. He definitely loves to keep his nose down and smell everything and kind of weaves back and forth smelling.

🐾🐾 He didn’t bark once while we had him. He was in our fenced in backyard most of the time and both neighbors have dogs who barked and he didn’t bark back at all. We had a plumber at our house and Larry walked right up to him with his tail wagging. Clearly friendly towards everyone!

💙💚 I would say he’s outgoing but a little submissive. With people and dogs. Which I see as a good thing. If my dog snapped at him he just cowered/stopped what he was doing. Larry wasn’t aggressive towards her at all. He was just very playful. I personally think he would thrive in a home with another medium/large playful dog. He just wants to gallop around and have fun.

🥰🥰 He also is good at being calm and just chewing on a bone or laying down. He is also very affectionate and loves to be pet and cuddled. He is so so sweet and very docile. I gave him a bath and he was great. He let me pick him up to put him in the car. He is one of those dogs you can kind of do anything to and he’s chill. He showed no signs of aggression. Hopefully he can find a home that is as equally patient and kind as he is.

👍👍 Overall, I think if he had some stability and someone who was patient with him with some basic obedience training he truly would be the dream dog!
