Nothing quite like hatchlings joining us on Christmas Day! What do you think? Will these babies go red, dark, or somewhere in between? This pairing so far has definitely kept me guessing! The eldest two seem to be coming into a very deep red.

(Check out the V***n x Balthazar album to see other hatchlings and the parents!)

Only a few days til Christmas! I hope all of my gecko friends and followers have some fun plans and good food in the pipeline.

Volt here is one of my few cappuccino females from Umbreon— his offspring skew towards male very heavily so far regardless of the female that I put him with. Pay no mind to the little breeding scuff on her head… my project for her is under wraps unless I see some success! Seeing a little red embryo in some eggs from her would be a Christmas wish come true in my book!

Casually trying to stretch my holiday themed content out until Christmas… I’m definitely gonna run out of pictures from this photo shoot by then though 😅 In the meantime, enjoy the lovely Fire Ants in all her weird glory!

Calanthe also participated in some holiday pictures this year! I’m glad I decided to keep this feisty girl after her attitude with my male— once she came around to the idea of breeding at least, she produced some very cute hatchlings!

First hatchlings from Calanthe x Phantom of the Opera have officially arrived! There won’t be very many of these unless I repeat the pairing (though I probably will…) The parents didn’t exactly hit it off right away, and so they only produced two clutches before Cal was done laying for the season. I am loving the results so far, and it’s gonna be a long 30-45 days while I wait for that second clutch to hatch!!

I forgot how much I so enjoy hatching out babies from Umbreon’s pairings. I’m not sure I can ever give him time off breeding again! Texas City here might be holdback material 👀

Balthazar is one of my greenest geckos for certain! He’s also one of the most tenured geckos in my collection, I was a little surprised that this will be my first time giving him his own Facebook album! Even though olive isn’t really my favorite look for crested geckos, I’ve had him for so long that I really never considered letting him go!

No other gecko in my collection embodies Christmas colors of red and green quite as well as my dear Iskierka! Although she’s a mature adult, I’m waiting on breeding her until the perfect male crosses my path and I’m willing to hold out for quite a while. Only the best for one of my favorite geckos!

Lily white was never my favorite morph, but the few I’ve been growing out over the past year are slowly changing my mind! I’m especially looking forward to seeing how they contribute to my cappuccino projects down the line. I decided to give Witchlight here another year to grow before pairing her up, but she’s filling out nicely and I absolutely love the little empty spots in her dorsal!

Next in the stream of holiday-themed gecko pictures is Mars and Velma, my (budget) red dalmation pair! Velma looks quite faded next to Mars because she’s fired down, but she’s a much brighter orange when she fires up and they’ve produced some lovely offspring together in the past. Fingers crossed they continue the trend in the coming year!

Who else put up their holiday decorations today? In my family, it’s always been tradition to put up decor the weekend after Thanksgiving, so I had to get some special holiday-themed pictures of a few of my favorite geckos, starting with Umbreon!

He’s definitely faded a bit from age and doesn’t fire up as dark as he did a few years ago, but he’s still going strong and I’m happy to have him in my collection, along with several of his kids who’ll be breeding for the first time in the coming year!

I hesitated to introduce this girl on my page not because there’s anything wrong with her (quite the contrary!), but my interaction with her breeder left a terrible taste in my mouth. The nicest thing I can say is that I got a fair deal thanks to the MM auction system, and she was well taken care of previously, but that’s where it ends.

MOVING ON though, I’d like to introduce Topsoil to my collection ❤️ I’m looking forward to growing her up and introducing her to my breeding lineup when she’s ready. If Mulch proves out this year and isn’t a dud, I think their potential as a pair together is really exciting!

2025 pairings have begun! This is only a few of the match ups that I have planned for this year, and I couldn’t be more excited. Most of these kids are first year breeders so I’m not sure how much success I’ll see, but I’m hoping for the best!

I paired Tabby x Zeus a little earlier and already have their first set of fertile eggs on hand, and the rest were left together overnight and checked on in the morning. Chalcedony lost her tail to Mulch (they seemed to be okay when I introduced them 😰), so I separated them and will try again in a month or so… all others look pretty good so far though!

Any favorites from the crowd? Any pairings you would choose differently? Let me know on the comments!

Mulch will hopefully be breeding in 2025, so I risked life and limb to get these fresh pictures for the internet.

Last year I tried him with a proven female who has rejected every male I’ve tried her with and a first time female who was laying duds, but got no results… fingers crossed he can figure it out this year with one of my two new breeders who I’ll be trying him with!

In light of the most recent new hatchlings in the gecko room, I thought it would be a nice time to release progression pictures from Umbreon’s last pairing with Espeon! Since this pairing produced a super cappuccino, it will not ever be repeated and neither parent will be purposefully bred to another cappuccino in the future. This pairing produced one of my most colorful Capps from Umbreon to date in Quail, and has allowed me to share first hand experience in the progression of super cappuccinos. (Don’t worry, Gummy Worm updates will continue!)

Overall, these have been the most docile and easy to handle of Umbreon’s babies! I’m also starting to think that the female in the pairing is the one who informs the growth rate of babies— Espeon and River were both smaller and slightly older geckos and produced slower growing offspring with Umbreon, whereas Olivia and V***n’s babies with him all seemed to be hitting close to full size at a year old. Does anyone else have experience to support my theory? I’d love to know in the comments how your babies grow differently depending on the female who produced them!

It’s been quite a while since we had any fresh Umbreon kids join the world! His pairing with H***y Tonk didn’t take until later in the year, but I’m expecting to see some nice hatchlings come from them in the coming months now that they’ve figured it out! I’m excited to see how these kids change as they grow compared to half siblings from Umbreon’s other pairings in the past!

Introducing another new arrival- Lava Girl! I saw her fired up at a local show this past weekend and could not keep my eyes off of her. She was originally produced by AC Reptiles, and since I don’t have any geckos of their lineage right now I thought it would be nice to add her to my red empty back group I’m starting up. (It also doesn’t help when vendors offer me deals I can’t say no to, I’m a huge sucker.) She has another year of growth ahead of her before she’s RTB, but I’m happy to have her and looking forward to watching her grow here!

My chahoua babies have been such a pain to get fired up, but MAN did they show me it was worth the wait after a local reptile show this weekend. These two clutchmates are coming into some really nice colors and are finally at a size where I’m a bit more confident in my ability to s*x them. First pictured is Rapier (male), and second is Saber (female); both are listed on my Morphmarket!

I am open to trades for certain high-end cresteds, but I’m really looking for a nice male chahoua from an unrelated line showing some nice red coloration, and I’d be willing to trade both of these clutchmates for the right bachelor!
