Tired of this cold weather? Join us for our Cabin Fever event on Sunday, January 19, from 12-2pm! We’ll start with a volunteer project (weather dependent!), then come inside where the kids can burn off energy with games in the fellowship hall, and adults will be treated to hot drinks and delicious snacks!

2024 Year in Review for the Urban Farm Church! We've come a long way, and a big part of that has been thanks to our amazing volunteers and leaders! As we look ahead to 2025, we're excited to keep growing, learning, and sharing alongside all of you!

THANK YOU to all those who helped us Raise the Roof on our new high tunnel! We finished our campaign with $5,005 in donations just as we installed the plastic tarp to enclose our new all-weather growing space! We are so grateful to all who gave!

Last week, Santa & Mrs. Claus hosted nearly 200 people from our community for pictures with Santa, toys, crafts, reindeer games, and cookie decorating! A jolly time was had by all! Many thanks to our wonderful volunteers for making this the best Santa's Workshop yet!

After weeks of cold work from a group of hardy volunteers, the high tunnel is ready to have plastic put on it! We plan to put the plastic on THIS SUNDAY, December 8, at 2:00PM (right after the Farm Feast). We estimate it will take 12-15 people around 1-2 hours to complete. The weather needs to be dry and not too windy - right now Sunday is forecast to be sunny and 50 degrees! Please join us for an afternoon outside as we get the high tunnel ready to grow winter crops!

On this Giving Tuesday, help us ‘RAISE THE ROOF’ on our new high tunnel! We need to raise $5,000 to finish installing the new high tunnel! A grant from our wonderful partners at Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District paid for $15,000 of this $20,000 project - and now we need donations to cover the rest! This past Sunday, the Urban Farm Church had its first baptism on the Farm using water from our own well! Emily Manley, who has been active with both the Farm Church and the choir at Maize Manor United Methodist Church was joyfully baptized with much excitement from her church families!

Maize Manor Preschool families were invited to stay after school one day in October for a Spooky Storywalk where Pastor Ryan read the book “Los Gatos Black on Halloween” to the kids as they wandered the half-mile nature trail.

2023 Fall Festival

The 2024 Fall Festival is coming to the Maize Manor Campus on Friday, September 27, from 6:00-7:30pm! Hayrides, mini pumpkins, delicious treats, the Maize Maze, and more! "Spreading Like Wildfire" is a 32-minute documentary film about the intersection of climate change and wildfires in Northern California. Pastor Ryan Grace and his wife, Mariellyn, filmed the documentary in spring of 2023. The documentary will be screened on Sunday, August 25, 11:00AM in the fellowship hall at Maize Manor United Methodist Church. Light refreshments will be served, and a time of discussion and Q&A will follow the film. #urbanfarmchurch #climatechange #BeUMC

At this year's Earth Day event, our volunteers worked tirelessly to pitch, wheel, and spread mulch on our entire 0.5-mile storybook trail! While we're still working on other components of the trail, we can't wait to share it with you when we finish!! #urbanfarmchurch #storybooktrail #BeUMC
