We had the privilege of taking some of our horses/ Client horses to Kindergarten Ag Day! What an amazing day for us and these children. To be able to give some of these kids an experience they may never get again, is an incredible feeling for us. ❤️

What a wonderful way to spend our Saturday. As some of you know. Miko has sure been through a lot lately, to see her finally back in the saddle & on her horse for the first time was incredible. We sure love riding with someone who means so very much to us.💓

The dogs enjoyed the sunshine too, they were wore out! 💖

Wow! Midnight is such a quick learner and minds great for a 2 year old. We have sure been blessed to work with such wonderful people, who we have adopted as “mamaw and papaw”! And of course, blessed to be making such quick progress with Midnight. ❤️

What an honor to be recognized for something you're passionate about.

May 5, 2023 was a day that Cory Bess will never forget, but the loss of his arm hasn’t slowed him down. The Adams County Board of DD made a trip to the barn to talk with Cory about the last year and it is very clear that life is definitely in the fast lane for Cory and Bess Performance Horses. Over 40 horses are housed at the farm where Cory is riding and training all of them. 10-12 horses are worked each day and there are even horses from other states being sent to him so they can get the needed services. When asked about losing his arm, Cory responds with “I lost my arm, not my abilities or my passion. Life goes on. Just because people have disabilities, whether they are physically, mentally or a combination of both, we never know a person’s capabilities.” Cory references one of his favorite quotes from Winston Churchill “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.” Cory is a newly certified Independent Provider that is approved through the State of Ohio, Department of Developmental Disabilities to provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Cory brings a level of excitement to the field, to Adams County and for the individuals he works with. He states that the barn is a perfect place for riding, feeding, grooming and sharing new experiences and opportunities. He wants everyone to be successful at what they do and the barn is a unique place to take care of something besides yourself. Cory finished our conversation by stating he just wants to pay it forward with opportunities and a quote from his Grandfather that simply states “you are never going to learn any younger.”
