Newfaelyne Dane is the passion project based on almost 20 years of research and determination. I, the owner and operator, have been in love with the breed since I was a teenager reading dog breed encyclopedias for fun. I also have a passion for genetics, have a degree in biology/microbiology, and over a decade of experience in the veterinary field. I have always wanted to breed dogs, specifically
Great Danes, who, despite having few show standard colors, come in a variety of patterns and shades. The genetics behind these colors is fascinating, but at Newfaelyne Danes we do not focus on coat colors, rather we focus on health, temperment, and coat texture. When I first held Nymphadora, my first dane pup, at 8 weeks old I was astonished by how soft she was. It was like holding a microfiber pillow that gave kisses. I could not believe it. In all my years of veterinary medicine I had never held a dog so soft. Even as a adult her coat is still incredibly soft. I needed to know how this happened. When we got her genetic panel back I had a hypothesis as to why and when we got Narcissa's panel back I had virtually confirmed the hypothesis. Narcissa's fur is how I expected it to be, smooth, short, and coarse, not the worst, but can definitely feel prickly at times. There was a distinct difference in her genetics from Nymphadora affecting coat texture. This is where I vowed to focus our breeding program. Newfaelyn Danes, strives to create the softest, cuddliest, loyal companion. Ideal for those searching for a dog that can be a exactly what you need regardless of the situation... except as a carry on, big dogs are big. So if you are interested in a super soft, super sweet, super fun companion, give us a follow and watch out for updates. First breeding is expected in 2023.
