With her boundless energy and inquisitive nature, Maisy is ready to soak up new skills and begin her journey toward becoming a well-rounded pup. Over the next two weeks, we’ll work on building her confidence, improving basic obedience, and reinforcing positive behaviors. From leash walking to socializing with other pups, Maisy will be set up for success in every area. The Dog Wizard Columbus IS Under New Ownership!

Marissa Abram is the proud new CEO of The Dog Wizard Columbus, and she has wasted no time making improvements by expanding partnering with International Casino & Resort Working Dog Association (ICRWDA), and Mann's Best Friend Veterinary Services, LLC. In the near future she plans to partner with several other local businesses! With these different partnerships she is planning for the ultimate customer experience!

Marissa Abram is no stranger to dogs, The Dog Wizard, or dog sports, as one can tell from her background and experience. Marissa successfully owned The Dog Wizard Virginia Beach, she worked for corporate for 4 years as an instructor for The Dog Wizard training academy as well as a corporate compliance mentor for different Dog Wizard franchisee’s across the country. She currently is the CEO for The Dog Wizard in Las Vegas Nevada! In addition, Marissa competes with her personal dogs in AKC Obedience, Trick Dog, DockDogs, and K9 Frisbee Toss & Fetch. She is also an AKC CGC approved evaluator and obedience instructor for ICRWDA. Marissa qualified for the 2023 DockDogs World Championships with her dogs Chukker ( 6 yr. old German Shepherd) and Ahnala (3 yr. old Belgian Malinois). Also in 2024, Chukker and Marissa won 1st place in the Handlers Division in the World Wide Championships for K9 Toss & Fetch.

What initially drew Marissa to The Dog Wizard, is their philosophy on training and their focus on centering the training around having more fun. “The beauty of a well-trained dog is they get to visit more places, meet more people, play with more dogs, and live the life the owner envisioned when they got the dog in the first place”, says Marissa.

Marissa certainly has an enormous entrepreneurial spirit on top of being a full time tenured high school math teacher in Columbus! She has mastered the ability to combine all of her passions surrounding dogs into one machine that works seamlessly together to create the perfect storm of success. Having done this once in Virginia Beach and in Las Vegas, Marissa jumped in with two feet when the Columbus location became available. “I live the Columbus area, I have some very special professional and personal relationships in Columbus and have always envisioned running the business here”. Adding, “I have a trusted team of trainers that will care for the business just as I do”. “I am extremely grateful for my Top Dog trainer Kaitlyn Keegan, who shares my same level of dedication to this location and our clients” says Marissa.

Marissa expressed the value dog training can add to owners’ lives. “We believe in nurturing the relationship between human and dog, to teach families how to communicate successfully with their dogs because trained dogs live better lives - they get to do more with their humans! Training also can keep dogs from ending up in shelters. To say the least, we are so excited for the future of The Dog Wizard Columbus”, says Marissa!

West Paw Toppl Recipe with Tripe Topper, Watermelon, Greek Yogurt, and Cow Tendon

Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp **Tripe topper** (made into a paste)
- 1/4 cup **Watermelon** (diced small)
- 2 tbsp **Greek yogurt**
- 1 tbsp **Yogurt crumble**
- 3-4 pieces of **Cow tendon chunks**

Instructions:
1. Prepare the tripe topper paste by mixing a small amount of water or broth into the tripe topper until it reaches a smooth, spreadable consistency.
2. Layer the bottom of the West Paw Toppl toy with half of the Greek yogurt.
3. Add the watermelon pieces and spread them evenly over the yogurt.
4. Spoon the tripe topper paste into the Toppl, spreading it over the watermelon layer.
5. Sprinkle the yogurt crumble over the tripe topper for some crunch.
6. Top it off by placing the cow tendon chunks into the Toppl, letting them stick out slightly for your dog to chew.
7. Freeze the Toppl for 2-3 hours to make it a longer-lasting treat.

This healthy and engaging treat provides your dog with a mix of textures and flavors, supporting joint health, digestion, and hydration.
