Update- Dr Sharp called me today and Mickey was up eating and drinking! Not sure what caused the fever and they are keeping him under observation another day- but a big improvement♥️🐈♥️
Little Mickey is sick - he is in the hospital @ Caldwell vet in Phenix city💔 he was there yesterday and not feeling any better so now he has to stay in care. He has a very high temp (106) not responding to antibiotics. We are very worried - if you can contribute to his care that would be appreciated.

Take a look at our National Park babies!! They will all be at Petco on Saturday 12-4!! We rescued these babies and their Mama and they are so precious!! Their Mama did test positive for FIV so we haven't tested them yet (except one for a baseline) because they are still carrying her antibodies. They may or may not have FIV. Be aware that FIV is NOT a death sentence and in fact their mother isn't even sick and the vet thinks she is 10 years old!! But we will answer any questions we can and please do your research - just in case. They are super sweet and need forever homes♥️♥️

Meet Bobby!! He is 2 years old.
He has had all of his shots and been neutered at Animal General Hospital. He was determined 100% healthy but slightly crosseyed. He is a siamese/shorthair mix. Paperwork can be provided of vet procedures. Litterbox trained. Not microchips. Bobtailed.
Personality wise: very talkative and LOVES to play and look put of windows. Food/play motivated. Favorite food Delectables. Enjoys being around people. Good with kittens when on street. Good with gentle Dogs. Inquisitive, brave, good natured, likes to explore and jump, clumsy.
We are at Petco now! Come visit!

Remember these babies in the top left picture that we took in two weeks ago? Well their eyes (and overall condition) were much worse in person than they looked in the pictures. These babies have been through: subq fluids for days, 2 bottles of Rx antibiotics, a vet visit, 4 times a day eye treatment and I'm still syringe feeding one whose nose is still so congested that he won't eat from a plate. I'm actually thrilled that each of them has at least one working eye!! Our BIGGEST need is more eye ointment. I'm on my 4th tube in 2 weeks and it is my last tube. Please help if you can - I'm putting our Amazon list link in the comments but if you prefer to just pick us up some at tractor supply, please do! Thank you everyone♥️🐈

This is also why we do what we do - I woke up this morning to this baby fading fast. She has been a perfectly healthy bottle baby until this morning. Jumped into fading kitten protocol and after about 31/2 hours she rallied! I took this video when I thought we would lose her. Look in the comments for how she is doing now. We are working with very fragile little lives. She is too young to be without her mama but that is the hand she was dealt and we will do all we can to keep her healthy and happy♥️ Thank you Sheree for taking over the care of Violet and her siblings!
The JOY is back! Sylvia had her babies!! Many of you will remember that Sylvia (then Snow) was rescued from Russell County Animal Control. She was expecting babies and she has an injured eye. (Post with pics in comments). After a vet visit she has been living a great life with foster Sheree Griggs (pics in comments). Sheree had to go on a business trip so Sylvia came to stay with me a few days ago and now there are 4 babies!!!! Sylvia will need eye surgery in addition to the spay/neuter, vaccines, & microchip we offer all our kitties... Excuse the long post. This morning it is hard to find joy in rescuing. I haven't posted about Tabby because I was hoping to post with a happy ending, but that isn't going to happen. I rescued Tabby and her siblings from Russell County Animal Control on 3/25 (Shelter pic in comments) All the kittens seemed fine but on Monday night the 28th Tabby was having labored breathing. I called all over (from Montgomery to Atlanta) to try to find an ER vet to see her and was unsuccessful. So Drew helped me rig up a humidifier to a Tupperware bin to help her breathe until I could get her to the vet the next morning. She spent 3 days in the hospital on oxygen (picture in comments) and symptoms improved but the X-rays showed her heart is very enlarged and Dr believes it is a congenital defect. I was allowed to bring her home Thursday afternoon. She's been on meds since and we've been watching to see how things would go. She has been enjoying the large enclosure with a hammock and played some with another foster baby but she tired quickly. This morning I woke up early to find she is having trouble breathing again (video from this morning). We've been sitting together a couple hours and I will be back at the vet this morning.... So so sad... Update - she passed peacefully in the 5 minutes that I was getting dressed to go to vet.

Our sweet Pebbles had a strange thing happen and she began dragging her back legs over the weekend. We took her to the Dr today and it turned out to be an abscess! Hopefully with meds she will make a full recovery - she had an exam and X-RAYs and fluids drained off the abscess. She is on 2 different meds.
