The Indiana DNR Law Enforcement K9 division operates on donations from the general public. We were excited to have the opportunity to donate a 7 month old Labrador Retriever named Ruzek to their program. Ruzek and his new handler Officer Tholen start their bonding process now, ahead of their training school in February.

Ruzek will eventually succeed Officer Tholen’s current partner Drake.

We are extremely proud of the work our dogs do. Hyco and Deputy Kingrey working with DNR to locate a person wanted on a warrant.

Early this morning, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office K9 Deputy Spencer Kingery and K9 Hyco along with Indiana Conservation Officer Matt Tholen and K9 Drake were called to assist in the location of a subject that was wanted on a warrant and suspected burglary of a residence.

K9 Hyco initially tracked from the location of where the suspect was last seen into a cornfield. K9 Drake and K9 Hyco were able to flush the subject out into a peremiter unit where the subject was taken into custody. Good work by all involved!

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (IN) K9 Diesel, who was killed in the performance of his duties on November 14, 2020. Our thoughts and prayers are with his handler, family and the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office as they cope with their loss.
