🔥WORKING THROUGH FEAR🔥
Fear is inevitable and will more than likely pop up at some point in your dogs life. Val is afraid of loud noises, we are working through this by creating positive associations and allowing her to investigate on her own terms. Comment below the moment you saw her demeanor change and her start to gain confidence!
This is so important for so many reasons. Let’s dive into a few of them!
🦴 Build Trust: Helping your dog work through their fears in a safe and effective way is a great way to build trust and better your relationship between you and your dog. When you help your dog, this shows them that they can look to you for guidance and creates a stronger bond. On the flip, ignoring these fears can cause a breakdown in communication between you and your dog and hurt that trust.
🦴Behavior Issues: Ignoring your dogs fears can manifest into severe behavioral issues such as aggression, destructive behaviors and even anxiety if not addressed properly. By helping your dog work through their fears, you can prevent these behaviors from occurring and create a more well-adjusted and happy pup. It’s OK to be afraid of something, but it’s not ok to dwell in that. Helping your dog work through their fears can help give them the tools to work through them later and be more confident in the long run.
🦴Quality of Life: Finally, helping your dog work through their fears can improve their overall quality of life. Just like humans, dogs deserve to feel safe and comfortable in their environment. By addressing their fears head-on and providing them with the support and guidance they need, you can ensure that your dog is living their best life.

❄️ ⛄️ It’s getting cold out! ❄️☃️
Here are some tips to ensure you’re dog is happy, healthy and safe this winter!
❄️ Anti-freeze can be deadly to dogs. Make sure you keep it out of reach of our furry pals or switch to one made with propylene glycol that are *less toxic to dogs
❄️ Wipe down their paws! Salt used to melt ice can be poisonous to dogs and irritate their skin, be careful of them walking across it and/or licking their paws after being around it, even “pet safe” salts- always err on the side of caution
❄️ Know their limits! Certain breeds can handle the winter months more than others. Still monitor your dog while outside and try to keep walks short, especially for dogs who have shorter coats or sensitive skin. Some dogs may benefit from coats and/or booties in the winter time for extra protection from the elements.
❄️ Be sure to keep an eye on their noses, paw pads, and ears, they are at the highest risk for frostbite and dry skin. Pet safe hydrating balms can be found at most pet supply stores to prevent dry skin and cracking.
Remember! Every dog is different, it’s up to you to pay attention to your pup and monitor them to ensure they’re happy and healthy! If your pup comes into contact with any of these things, please call your vet right away!
