Big girl Galapagos Tortoise just wants to say hi to everyone. She just turned 11 years old and weighs over 150 lbs!! Still a couple hundred pounds to go and over 15 decades to get there but we’re in no rush❤️

This awesome couple is starting off the holiday weekend in style with their very own Capybara encounter🥳🥳🥳
Happy Labor Day weekends folks, we’ll be open all weekend including Labor Day Monday 10-5
Weather is superb so come on out and make some memories with several interactions to choose from Capybara, Giant Tortoise, baby Crocodile, Ozzy the Serval and of course the super popular Python Encounter.

Our girl Ruby, not a care in the world🥰
Ruby is a young Red Ruffed Lemur just over a year old and part of a group of six subadults that will start breeding by the end of the year. The zoo keeps growing and we’re consistently adding new species for visitors to learn about and even interact with it’s very rewarding to see them thriving and entertaining guests.
Ruffed Lemur fun facts:
- the only primate to build nests for their offspring.
- critically endangered and on the verge of extinction in the wild.
- highly vocal these beauties can make some noise!
- very sociable they live in groups of multiple males & females.
- they’re frugivores 80-90% of their diet is fruit but they also eat pollen, leaves and some seeds.
- they prefer the high canopy of the rainforest most of the time over 50’ off the ground.
We have both species of Ruffed Lemur the Black & White and the Reds and we’re looking forward to seeing babies in the Spring can you imagine the cuteness overload of a baby Ruffed Lemur?❤️

Have you ever wanted to experience life as a zookeeper? We are looking for volunteers to do animal interactions with visitors, moving animals around, petting zoo attendant and keeping the animals enclosures clean & pretty.
Right now we need someone Wed-Fri 10-5 and possibly weekends 10-5, room for advancement and getting on the payroll, pop in during business hours Wed-Sun between 10-5 for a quick chat or shoot us a message and we’ll go from there.

Another school year is right around the corner and we are set up for entertaining kids🥳
Teachers please consider us for a field trip our animals are used to large groups of youngsters and we have lots of interactions available such as feeding horse, goats, chickens, ducks and even ostrich🤯. We also offer the super popular free python encounter where you’ll meet Hugger the friendliest python in the universe so bring them all out for some serious fun in the sun and you can even set up for lunch we can handle up to 200 kids per field trip, very educational and fun for all.

Some good folks from Schulenburg, Randy & Brandi, made this awesome and generous donation and we’re thrilled to raise a pair of solid snow whites and text book Indian blues, we can hardly wait to see these beauties struttin’ around the park and showing off.
