365 days… 1 year… Jean-Pierre has been in our care for 1 whole year and not a single adoption application filled out for him. He is a 3 year old Neutered Male Border Collie mix. Gets along with children, older dogs, cats unknown. We have grown to learn so much about him and all his silly little tricks and quirks. He is a fast learner when it comes to learning new tricks. This sweet boy deserves the most amazing home with an active family who likes doing on runs or walks. Come and meet this sweet boy! 🐾💛

It’s like this everywhere. PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER.

Our intake/holding kennels are FULL! Because of this we are needing to use our main kennels as overflow.
Since some of these dogs are not fully vaccinated or do not yet belong to CNHS so we will be closing the kennels off for walking through until further update.
THIS IS TEMPORARY. We will still be conducting adoptions and allowing volunteers. Please use the website as well as staff knowledge of each animal to help your decision with who to meet!

We are hiring at Paws and Claws Adoption Center in Columbus, NE! We are looking for someone who loves animals and is willing work with dogs and cats! This job is listed as Part-Time Kennel Assistant. Animal experiences preferred. But if you don’t have animal experience that is fine we are willing to train the right person(s)! 🐶 🐾

Job Duties include :
- Cleaning & Disinfecting dog and cat kennels and outdoor dog areas
- Feeding & watering
- Sweep, mop & wash dishes, do laundry, occasionally yard work
- Socializing the dogs, cats & showing them to the public
- Give medicine if needed
- Learn how to restrain dogs when needed such as (Vaccinations, microchipping, drawing blood & intake exam)
- Take pictures and videos of the animals to post on Facebook
- More will be explained when you come in to pick up an application or if selected for an interview.

Must be able to :
- Handle all types and sizes of dogs & cats
- Work in a team & independently
- Have good communication skills
- Ability to multitask
- Lift more than 50lbs
- Understand the cleaning process
- Work weekdays with rotating weekends as well as some holidays
- Not have any allergies to animals

Perfect weather for 2024 Columbus Days. The pets were in heaven with all the love and attention they got. Thank you to everyone that stopped to visit, donate, signed up to volunteer, and spend some time with our adoptables. Pets included Bruno, Athena, Mazikeen ( cats) and Jean Pierre, Weston, Bart, Homer, Abe, Tucker, Eloise, (dogs). Thank you to volunteers: Deb Potter, Kim Severyn, Shane Borer, Jane Mastera, Janel L. Our amazing volunteer/foster Deaudra decided to take out Abe for the day! They had so much fun! Abe got to have a pup cup, get a toy & even got a spa day! DeAudra says he He did really good with Atlas (her dog) and he also did not mind my cats at all. He was not around the kittens just my big cat so l know he does good with the adult cats at least.

Abe did very well at the Friday night parade and on Saturday morning at Frankfurt Square. This sweet boy gets along dogs, adult cats & children! His adoption fee is $75. Come and sn**ch up this sweet boy. 💕
