In Memory of Loki
(May 1, 2015 - February 6, 2025)

For nearly nine years, Loki graced the kennels of Shaw PBR with his gentle spirit and endearing quirks. A resident since March 2016, he wasn't just another Adopt-a-Bull – he was family. His intelligence shone through in the way he mastered puzzle games, solving them with an enthusiasm that never failed to amaze us. Yet this brilliant boy had his own adorable fears – squeaky toys sent him running, and the crinkle of water bottles would make him jump.

Loki had perfected the art of the dramatic pause during his walks at the new site. He'd stop, pretending the journey was too much, only to transform into a bouncing bundle of joy the moment his kennel came into view. It was just one of his many charming performances that made us smile every day.

His philosophy in life was simple: live and let live. He got along with everyone who respected his space, never looking for trouble, never causing any. That's what made it so hard to discover his hidden pain – the severely swollen spleen he'd been quietly carrying, never letting on how much discomfort he was in.

Last Thursday afternoon, we had to make the hardest decision any pet parent faces. Through their own illness, Mama A and Papa K have been gathering strength to share the news of losing their precious boy. Because that's what Loki was – precious to us all.

They say dogs come into our lives to teach us about love,
Then leave paw prints on our hearts when they go above.
A piece of us departs with every goodbye we say,
But the love they've given stays with us every day.
In memories of bouncing steps and gentle glances sweet,
In puzzle games half-finished, waiting for you to complete.
Sleep well, dear Loki, our beautiful, cautious soul,
You've left us broken-hearted, but you've made our lives whole.

To all the Adopt-a-Bulls who've crossed the Rainbow Bridge – you're never just rescue dogs to us. You're our family, our heart, our everything. And Loki, sweet boy, you took a piece of our hearts with you when you left. Run free, without fear, where water bottles can't startle you and every puzzle is a new adventure. We will always love you.

🚨 URGENT: Please Send Love & Prayers for Cici 🚨 Sweet Cici isn’t feeling well today. 💔 This morning, we noticed she was lethargic, uninterested in moving, and wouldn’t eat. Her eyes weren’t focused—we knew something was wrong. We rushed her to the vet, where her temperature was a dangerously high 104.4. The amazing team at Best Friends Animal Hospital worked quickly to cool her down, and she’s improved somewhat. However, her bloodwork showed concerning levels for her kidneys, liver, and pancreas. She’s currently receiving IV medications, and we will be bringing her home later today with a new treatment plan. Cici is a fighter, but she needs your love, prayers, and good vibes more than ever.
