Golden Endings Golden Retriever Rescue

Golden Endings Golden Retriever Rescue An organization dedicated to the welfare of homeless Golden Retrievers. How do I adopt a Golden Retriever?
(40)

The adoption fee for a Golden Endings dog varies for the age/needs per dog. This fee helps to pay the expenses incurred for the dog's medical treatment, which in many cases is less than GEGRR pays to bring the dog to an adoptable condition. Potential adopters are screened, by written application and by telephone interview. The application and the interview will help the adoption coordinator, and t

he adoption coordinator determines which dogs are most suitable for each applicant. If the applicant has had other pets, a veterinarian reference is requested. In some cases, GEGRR will conduct a home visit to see where a dog will live, play, and exercise. Also, adoptive families consent to periodic follow-up calls during their first year of ownership. Adoptive families are required to sign a contract regarding the treatment of their new pet. Care of the dog is never to be transferred to an animal shelter. If the family is unable or unwilling to keep the dog, it must be returned to Golden Endings. All GEGRR dogs are spayed or neutered and cannot be used for breeding purposes. The adoptive families agree to provide medical treatment when necessary and all annual booster vaccinations at a veterinary clinic of their choice. The adoptive family will provide the dog with its monthly heartworm preventative. The adoptive family agrees to keep their pet contained and not let it roam the neighborhood. Golden Endings requires the new owner to provide the dog with a course in basic obedience. Training will help the dog become a valued member of your family. We also recommend that you feed the dog a premium dog food, the benefits of doing this far outweighs the cost involved.

My name is Mia and I’ll be 3 years old in September; I was surrendered to Golden Endings in March.

I was checked from nose to tail by someone called a Veterinarian. They said I had an ear infection, so I was treated with medication for that. I also got all my vaccines, a blood test, f***l, urinalysis and was heart worm and Lyme tested. A couple weeks later I was spayed.

I have a microchip and have been started on heart worm prevention and flea and tick prevention. I weigh around 55 pounds.
I’m a little on the shy/nervous side, so Golden Endings was giving time to decompress and get started on routine schedule of feeding and house training.

On April 19th of this year I had a seizure; that’s the only seizure I’ve had, but the Veterinarian decided to put me on Keppra and I’m doing good with the medication.

I really like other dogs and I love to play, so it would be wonderful if there was a dog in my possible future home. I’m good with cats. I also think my future home should have older children.
I’m currently located in Wheeling area, so if you’re interested in adopting me, please contact Golden Endings and they will discuss the details of my adoption process when you inquire about me.

I really wish and hope that someone is willing to ask about me and maybe find it in their heart to love me and bring me into their lives and home.

Thank you for reading my story and reaching out to Golden Endings.
Mia

Keri is still available for adoption

Keri can’t understand why she’s still waiting to be adopted in her forever home, she’s petite, does great with cats, and other dogs. Keri thought it might be because she’s going to be six years old, but she wants you to know age doesn’t stop her, she likes to play and run around the yard.
If you’re looking to adopt a sweet girl, please contact golden endings, we would love to see her placed in a home where she can be part of your family.
Keri wanted to say “Thank you” and she would appreciate if you let everyone know that she’s still patiently waiting to hear from you if you’re interested in adopting her.

You can find the contact info on the Golden Endings website.

I was born without my left front leg. It doesn't stop me from running and playing! I’m learning to adjust with only three legs and I think I’m doing a great job! I’m good with other dogs and I also love being with people. I’m around 14 weeks old and weigh 25 lbs. Golden Endings had an x-ray taken and their veterinary hospital thinks I don’t need any further treatment and I should grow up just fine. If you’re interested in adopting me and loving me as I am, please get in contact with golden endings. You can go to their website and it’ll tell you how to fill out an adoption application. Golden Endings website has Judy and Kay’s information if you want to talk with them about me.

Thank you for reading my story...

Albie joined our family in May 2023 as our first rescue dog. He started as a big goofy puppy at about six months of age who still needed to learn the ropes of how to be a “good boy”. He has worked hard in obedience classes and has a very calm and kind demeanor that made him a really good candidate to pursue being a therapy dog. We are proud to announce not only did he pass his therapy dog certification, but now is the first dog to join Ohio Health’s therapy dog program. He has already made several visits to support the staff and brighten their days. When he isn’t “working”, he still is a wild goofball who enjoys every bit of being a young dog (and is still a bit naughty when he chooses!) We are so proud of him and how he has represented Golden Endings and his family of rescue dogs from which he came!
