This is Daisy, the sweetest Bassett hound puppy. She ate a sizable rock that led to an intestinal obstruction. We diagnosed this with abdominal x-rays, then helped to stabilize her before facilitating transfer over to where she had emergency surgery and was hospitalized. Sweet Daisy is now back at home ❤️
Wishing these two lovely ladies the best of luck as they return to Ohio State for their second year of veterinary school! We are lucky enough to have them part-time throughout the school year so you’ll still see their faces 😁. They are two of the brightest, hardest working individuals and we can’t wait to see their continued growth.
Happy and tired faces because we had a record weekend!! We were able to help 19 patients on Friday and 23 on Saturday!! We couldn’t be more grateful for our dedicated team and continued growth ❤️

We had a great time at Godown Dog Park spreading the word about PAWS! We met so many cute dogs and caring pet parents.
Miss Darla come to us for squinting her right eye. As you can see in the first picture, there is a large area of green staining on her eye. This is how we diagnose corneal ulcers in dogs! We numb the eye and use a fluorescein stain. A scratch in the cornea will pick up the dye.
We treat ulcers with topical antibiotics to prevent infection and oral anti-inflammatories to help with pain. A non-complicated ulcer should heal within 7 days!

Chopstick presented to us for a non-weight bearing lameness of the front left leg. He was very painful on palpation of his paw so we took x-rays, which confirmed a fracture of his second metacarpal bone. We placed a splint to help with stabilization and immobilization and started him on anti-inflammatories. We will recheck x-rays in 4 weeks so stay tuned to see Chopstick’s progress!
Sweet Abra came in for vomiting and excessive licking, which is typically related to nausea. We took abdominal x-rays, which showed gas-dilated intestines. This suggests functional ileus (the slowing down of intestinal movement and contraction), but fortunately she was not obstructed!
Dr. Harney treated her supportively with fluids, anti-nausea therapy, and a bland diet. Thanks for coming to see us Abra!!

Dr. Bonfiglio with one of her and Dr. Harney’s favorite patients, Ivy!! Ivy’s mom thought she may have eaten a bee. We treated her for an allergic reaction and she is feeling good!

Tootsie came in for a wound on her neck. We clipped the surrounding fur, cleaned it, and sent her home on antibiotics and anti-inflammatories! She will hopefully feel better very quickly! Thanks for coming to see us Tootsie!

Kai is as cute as he is bad! He ate all 8 octopus tentacles from a dog toy 🦑. We were able to successfully induce vomiting and he produced all this!
We are so happy to have saved him from needing another surgery (yes, he has had a sock removed surgically before 🤦🏻♀️) !
Opening a vet hospital is an adventure to say the least. It has been exciting, stressful, terrifying, exhausting, fun, just about every adjective and emotion you can think of. We want to extend a huge thank you to the people that have helped us along the way.
with was so much more than our realtor. He acted as a consultant and helped us every step of the way. His knowledge, experience, and communication are unmatched and he quickly became one of our biggest assets.
My very talented sister .cunningham designed our logo, created our website, business cards, rack cards, open house invites, and magnets. I’d say she knocked it out of the park 😉
Our contractor Brent ( ) and his entire team were amazing from start to finish. They built us the hospital of our dreams AND kept us on our timeline, which I think everyone can agree, is rare with construction.
My sister-in-law and best friend orchestrated a Facebook donation of dog beds, blankets and towels, went and picked them up from everyone and delivered them to us. Her and my other SIL also made all the goodie bags for our open house!
We also had so much support and encouragement from family, friends, colleagues, reps, and the public! This continues to drive us daily.
And a final thank you to the best business partner I could ask for, . I cannot imagine doing this without you. You are the hardest working person I know, an amazing friend, and an amazing doctor. I think we make a damn good team 😘 -Jenna ❤️

Dr. Rob Harney was born and raised in New York. After attending SUNY Oswego for undergraduate studies he attended The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating Rob stayed in Columbus working in general practice and that is where he met Dr. Jenna Bonfiglio. Together they saw the need for same day care and founded PAWS Veterinary Urgent Care!
During his free time Rob likes to cook, travel, and spend time with his partner, Juan, and their three dogs Ralph, Ollie, and Buttercream.
Rob looks forward to helping pet parents when they need it the most, and providing another same day option to the community.
Dr. Jenna Bonfiglio is from Ohio and completed her undergraduate studies as well as veterinary school at OSU! She practiced at an urgent care in Charleston, South Carolina after veterinary school and then moved back and worked in general practice for 5 years, which is how she met Dr. Harney.
Jenna lives in Columbus with her husband, Luke, and their 2 rescue dogs, Oliver and Milo 🐶🐶
Jenna’s favorite things outside of work are traveling and hiking, cooking, reading, and enjoying local music (especially her husband’s band, SILVIS).
Dr. Bonfiglio and Dr. Harney knew branching out together and starting an urgent care would open the door to help so many pets in Columbus.
