The Dog Stop

Our 12,100 square foot indoor and outdoor facility caters to every dog’s wish. In 2009, the first The Dog Stop® doors opened in Pittsburgh, PA.

Our Franklinton Ohio location features luxury boarding accommodations, an interactive and social daycare experience, a spa-like grooming retreat, retail store, and much more. We were bred from the beginning to be America's best all-inclusive indoor/outdoor dog care facility. The owners of The Dog Stop® spent several years researching the pet care industry, surveying the needs of local pet owners,

and planning an all-inclusive facility after they saw a lack of transparency in the industry. Their goal was to create a fun and safe environment where dogs would love to come and play, and pet owners would feel 100% confident in the superior care that their dogs were receiving. Since that day, The Dog Stop’s mission has been to deliver a superior experience for the dogs and their whole families by providing a safe environment, offering educational opportunities, anticipating and exceeding the needs of clients and their pet companions, instilling complete peace of mind for those we serve – and to earn their trust every day! Today, there are over 20 Stops throughout the United States! Each Stop is locally owned and operated, but was bred and trained on the original The Dog Stop morals and mission. Nye was found as a stray on New Year’s Eve and hopped right into his finder’s car, proving he’s a people-loving pup through and through. He’s all about toys, treats, and belly rubs, and he can’t wait to find a family that will shower him with love. 🥰

Looking for a snuggle buddy? ♥️ Nye is your guy! While we’re not sure how he feels about other furry friends, HARP’s team can help with introductions and set up a meet-and-greet at the shelter. Nye does have some medical considerations, and HARP’s medical team will be happy to provide more details before adoption.

Did you know that dogs repeat behaviors that get a response—even if it’s scolding? Instead of pushing your dog down when they jump, try this:
👉 Anticipate the jump and say "off" as they approach.

Due to the inclement weather planned for Columbus this week, we are going to open late on Monday, January 6th.

The plan is to open at 10:00am for daycare, grooming and boarding drop off and pick-up.

If the weather shifts and is worse than expected, we may have to alter our hours.

We will advise as soon as soon as possible if there are changes.

We have a few road warriors who will be here no matter the conditions to attend to the boarders but safety is our utmost concern.

Say hello to Chicory! 🐶 This adorable pup came to Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) as a stray and has blossomed into a joyful and loving companion. Though she was initially a bit nervous, Chicory has made incredible progress in building her confidence. She's a pint-sized cuddle bug who adores attention—especially after getting her zoomies out! 🐾

Treats are the way to Chicory's heart, and she's learning that humans can be her best friends. If you have another dog at home, it is recommended to schedule a meet-and-greet to see if they’re a perfect match. Stop by HARP's East Side shelter to meet this little sweetheart! 💗
