The Dog Stop Our 12,100 square foot indoor and outdoor facility caters to every dog’s wish. In 2009, the first The Dog Stop® doors opened in Pittsburgh, PA.

Our Franklinton Ohio location features luxury boarding accommodations, an interactive and social daycare experience, a spa-like grooming retreat, retail store, and much more. We were bred from the beginning to be America's best all-inclusive indoor/outdoor dog care facility. The owners of The Dog Stop® spent several years researching the pet care industry, surveying the needs of local pet owners,

and planning an all-inclusive facility after they saw a lack of transparency in the industry. Their goal was to create a fun and safe environment where dogs would love to come and play, and pet owners would feel 100% confident in the superior care that their dogs were receiving. Since that day, The Dog Stop’s mission has been to deliver a superior experience for the dogs and their whole families by providing a safe environment, offering educational opportunities, anticipating and exceeding the needs of clients and their pet companions, instilling complete peace of mind for those we serve – and to earn their trust every day! Today, there are over 20 Stops throughout the United States! Each Stop is locally owned and operated, but was bred and trained on the original The Dog Stop morals and mission. 🎒 Pack the Essentials
Water, p**p bags, and a leash are must-haves. Skip treats and toys that might stir up resource guarding. And always clean up after your furry friend!

With the weather warming up, outdoor fun with your pup is just what you both need. But it's important to keep them safe too. A reliable, simple "come" is one of the most important skills you can teach your dog—keeping them safe and giving you peace of mind!
Here are five tips to help your pup come when called:
🐶 Use High-Value Rewards – Treats, toys, or praise make coming to you the best choice!
🏃‍♂️ Make It Fun – Use an excited voice and playful body language to encourage a fast response.

1️⃣ Tail Position Matters – A wagging tail doesn’t always mean happiness! A high, stiff wag can indicate alertness or arousal, while a low, slow wag might show uncertainty or deference 🐕.
2️⃣ Ears Tell a Story – Forward ears suggest curiosity or excitement 😃, but pinned-back ears can signal fear, anxiety, or deference 😬.
3️⃣ Relaxed vs. Stiff Body – A loose, wiggly body generally means a happy, relaxed pup, while a stiff, tense posture may signal stress, aggression, or discomfort 🤗➡️😟.
4️⃣ Yawning and Lip Licking – These are common calming signals dogs use when they’re anxious or trying to diffuse tension 😴👅.

🦴 Frozen Kong or Lick Mat – Stuff a Kong with peanut butter or mashed banana, or spread a tasty treat on a lick mat and freeze it for a longer-lasting, soothing activity.
