Our girl Bonnie spent some time away in a short-term foster home and had the BEST time! Just hear from her foster mom!

"Bonnie is one of the SWEETEST dogs I’ve ever had. She's completely trained with manners: crate trained, walks well on leash, drops the ball when asked, and of course is a cuddle queen. She doesn’t seem to know any other commands yet but she’s perfect. She loves people! Bonnie is a QUEEN!!!" 👑🥰

Max is a charming and fun-loving boy who’s ready to bring his joy and love to any family! 🐾 He’s friendly with everyone he meets and absolutely adores snuggling up, sunbathing, gazing out the window, and playing with his favorite toys. 🧸

Max is housebroken, intelligent, and eager to please! He already knows the basics—sit, stay, come, and shake—and is always ready for a walk or playtime, followed by some couch cuddles. ❤️

Max also enjoys spending time with other dogs, and is very friendly with children, so he could be the perfect companion! 🥰

"Nadia is perfect!" Thanks to one of our amazing volunteers, we’ve learned just how incredible this sweet girl truly is!

While Nadia has had a difficult time adjusting to life in the shelter, she transforms into the happiest, most loving companion once she’s in a home. She’s a "calm, affectionate, certified snuggle bug," and her heart is as big as her adorable smile!

Nadia is all about giving unconditional love and is the queen of lazy mornings! This past weekend, she spent the whole time cozied up on the couch with warm blankets, soaking in all the love and belly rubs. She’s all about those sweet moments and would make an amazing apartment dog.

ADOPTED!! Meet Twyla!!

After being adopted in December 2024, Twyla’s journey has been nothing short of incredible. When she first came to our shelter, she was shy and lacked confidence, but over time, she’s blossomed into the sweetest, most confident pup you could ever meet!

Twyla and her brother Zeke are inseparable. From cozy cuddle sessions to fun car rides, these two are always by each other’s side. They even choose to share a crate sometimes, just to snuggle up together! 🐕💖

Twyla also made a bestie at doggie daycare – a lovable golden doodle named Boone. These two are always ready for some fun, whether it’s exploring new places or just hanging out together!

Twyla's all about adventures and living life to the fullest, and we couldn’t be happier to have been part of her heartwarming journey. 💫

Huge congrats to Twyla and her amazing family! 🎉 We're so proud of the love and joy she's found! 💖

ADOPTED! We want to give the BIGGEST THANK YOU to everyone who showed so much love and support for our Morse Road Miracle Pups! 💞

These little survivors, who were found in a box outside in freezing temperatures back in January, are now thriving and living their best ADOPTED lives!

Their journey would not have been possible without all the amazing people who stepped up to help, including our fosters, our medical team and our incredibly supportive community. 🥰

Before they went off to their new homes, we gave them an awesome send-off with a professional photoshoot, all thanks to our incredibly talented friend and shelter volunteer Pawtrait Love / Picture the Love ! 🧡

Though these cuties have all since been adopted, don’t worry - we've got more adorable pups looking for loving homes.

Bodhi FKA Bruce was adopted from our shelter about a year ago and his family wanted to share how their lives have changed ever since! 🥳

"Bodhi is the SNUGGLIEST dog I’ve ever had. He is the sweetest boy, absolutely loves every single human and dog he meets. He also has the funniest personality- he will dance on his hind legs when he’s excited, and will tap you with his paw when he needs more attention (which is always), and loves sitting on the back/arms of couches to look outside."

Ruth is a dog’s dog, the kind of girl who loves making new four-legged friends just as much as she loves her humans.

Whether it’s playing in the backyard, hitting the trails, or snuggling up for a cozy nap, Ruth is always game!

“She’s the best of both worlds, super chill when you want to relax, but always up for fun when the moment calls for it.” Shares her foster who can’t say enough good things about her. 💛

“My favorite thing about Ruth is how cuddly she is. She loves to lay on the couch and be close to her humans! She is the SWEETEST pup with the biggest heart and so much love to give. I have seen so much growth in every aspect since having her!”

This Tuesday, March 4th, Ruth will be joining us at the shelter for a special In-Shelter Adoption Day, and she’s hoping to head home with a new loving family.

We ❤️ Puppy Yoga! Thank you so much to everyone who joined us today and a special shoutout to Peace Yoga By Cheryl for leading such a beautiful practice.

Your continued support helps us create not just a space for relaxation, but a movement of kindness and connection, for both people and pets within our community.

The funds raised through today’s Puppy Yoga were used to purchase a van full of dog food, supporting our Free Community Pet Pantry, making a real difference for local families and their pets in need.

Meet Big Foot! 🐾

This handsome boy is the perfect mix of charm and brains! Whether you’re a dog lover or not, Big Foot will win you over with his sweet personality and friendly nature.

He walks beautifully on the leash, loves to show off his tricks (sit, down, shake—he’s got it all down!), and is always up for a snuggle session or a game of fetch! 😄

Big Foot is likely an Irish Wolfhound mix, though he’s a bit on the smaller side for the breed, weighing in at a slightly more manageable 70lbs. But don’t let his size fool you—he’s got the same loving and happy nature as his bigger cousins.💕

Interested in a true gentleman? Meet Farley! 🐾🧡

Farley recently went on a sleepover with one of our amazing volunteers, and the experience was a total success! Here’s what we learned about this wonderful pup:

Farley is a great traveler and LOVED the car ride. In the house, he was respectful and easy-going, napping and keeping him self entertained while the volunteer worked. He knows sit, shake, and will come when called. Farley LOVES toys! He’s all about playing, chewing, and especially fetch.

Most of all, Farley is a big love bug who thrives on being close to people. He’s just a joy to have around!

We were so happy to see how well he did on his sleepover. Farley is truly a gem and will make an amazing companion for the right family. Could that be you? ❤️

The Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center opened at our current location on October 3, 2011, following several years of planning and construction. Our new facility replaced the outdated former shelter on Alum Creek Drive, and provides a clean, safe, healthy environment for the dogs, visitors, volunteers, and employees.
