Community Compassion in Action! 💛 Special thank you to our puppy yoga participants and to our friends at Peace Yoga By Cheryl, for helping us pack our shelter van full of dog food donations.

For the second year in a row, Peace Yoga has brought together movement, mindfulness, and compassion through Puppy Yoga at our Adoption Center, supporting both our shelter dogs and pets in need throughout our community.

Our community pet pantry is fully supported through generous donations, and every bag donated helps keep pets with their families and out of shelters.

✨ FRAN-tastic! ✨

This sweet girl made a ton of amazing new memories on her most recent DogVenture! 📸❤

The day began with some all-important car cuddles! After that, they went on a long hike where Fran was able to show off her excitement for the great outdoors! Then, after going home, Fran was introduced to our volunteer's dog, and they became fast friends, watching out the window together!

Everyone had a blast hanging out together! Our volunteer mentioned that she was "an absolute sweetheart. I loved spending the day with her!" 💜

Fran would be a wonderful addition to any household and would love to be your valentine this year! 💞

🌹 Roses are red, violets are blue, Di**le is irresistible, and he’s waiting for YOU! 🌹

Get ready for a serious case of puppy love because Di**le is here, and he’s everything you could want in a best friend; sweet, goofy, loving, and Oh-So-Snuggly.

At just four months old and already 40 pounds, this Mastiff mix is going to be a BIG boy with an even bigger heart.

He is already crate trained, has wonderful manners and sleeps through the night without a single accident! He knows sit and shake like a pro and has nearly mastered lay down - learning super fast because, let’s be honest, he’ll do anything for treats!

Di**le adores other dogs and loves a good game of keep-away, though sometimes he forgets he’s playing alone and then wonders why no one is chasing him.

He’s also lived with cats in his previous home, and while he was happy to share the space, the cats weren’t quite as enthusiastic about his big puppy energy.

Di**le is currently living in a foster home with one of our amazing volunteers, soaking up love and learning what being part of a family is all about!

But what he really wants is a family to call his own, and just in time for Valentine’s Day! Could that be you?

We had a truly incredible Valentine's celebration at the shelter today! We are beyond grateful to everyone who showed up to make the day special for our adorable adoptables! 🐾

Thanks to YOU, these pups were able to enjoy beautifully decorated treats, handmade with love, and delivered straight to their kennels. Your heartfelt Valentine messages and incredible artwork were the perfect finishing touch!

It’s moments like these that remind us how fortunate we are to be part of such a caring and supportive community. Your kindness helps our dogs feel loved, and it brightens their day more than words can express. ☀️

Remember Lily, the super sweet mama we introduced to the world last fall?? Well, her puppies have all since been adopted and she is in need of a home for herself! ✨🧡

Lily is truly an exceptional girl! In her 3 short years, she found her way to our adoption center, raised a litter of puppies, stole the hearts of thousands, AND made friends with 2 cats and some ferrets!

Seriously, her foster mom said "My ferrets adore her and she loves giving them kisses." 😍

Lily has a special way of charming everyone she meets. She is sweet like honey, well mannered and has a naturally gentle and playful spirit.

SAVE THE DATE! 💖 We’d love for you to join us next Saturday, February 8th for our Valentine's Day Dog Treat Decorating Event!

This is one of our community's favorite events of the year, and it’s completely free. All ages are welcome to join us!

We provide all the supplies needed to decorate holiday treats and crafts for our shelter pups and once you've added the finishing touches, you will get to hand deliver your creations to a shelter pup who is currently waiting to be adopted.

The Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center opened at our current location on October 3, 2011, following several years of planning and construction. Our new facility replaced the outdated former shelter on Alum Creek Drive, and provides a clean, safe, healthy environment for the dogs, visitors, volunteers, and employees.
