Fosters, Rescue Focus, Shelter Pups & Memories

Many beautiful babies not forgotten …

One of them, “Percy”, never made it to rescue or safety that year and it was heart breaking.

Trying to network him to safety, I made an online rescue friend named Patricia who did everything she could to save him.
Patricia succumbed to cancer not long after.

Another dog in these pix didn’t live to the end of that year either, but for a different reason … he made it to a wonderful rescue, Tuscarawas Co Humane Society.
Bc he didn’t like other dogs, he was there a long time. A wonderful family took him for a Sunday outing to give him a break from the shelter and he was so happy.
They all had a wonderful day visiting
family.
On the way home, their vehicle was in an accident and the dad, one child, and Aspen the dog didn’t survive.

Life is fleeting.
These creatures are beautiful.
And today none of them, nor the humans who loved them are forgotten…

God help me with the people who shoot dogs - this sweetheart survivor is available for adoption
through a local rescue

If you are looking for an absolutely wonderful senior dog, then King Coal is your man. He is a 60 pound black lab who is around 9 years old. He was recently pulled from a rural County shelter where he was on the euthanasia list, the victim of being old in a full shelter. But this older gentleman is the happiest, friendly dog you will meet. He loves everyone, humans and dogs. If you don't like licks, he's not for you. He just wants to give love and be loved. He is a little wobbly on the back end and x-rays revealed something we didn't expect. The poor fella had been shot at some point and his back left side is full of shotgun pellets. But that doesn't slow him down, he is still the happiest guy around. He is potty trained and does fine in the crate. The amazing guy who has never met a stranger just needs his forever home. He will need a home with only a few stairs. While he can navigate a few, he cannot do a full flight well.

These awesome toys were of purchased by Aunt Karen at the Annual Howliday Bazaar Fundraiser to raise funds for medical needs for FCDS dogs !

On Christmas Day, each cat client visited received a “Cat Calming Blanket” from Santa Paws

Every cat has some reaction to them… ie one client drug his around and left it in a ball under the tree

ASL welcomes adoptable pup in the red collar named “Rosemary” !

She doesn’t know her name so you cud name her anything you want !

ASL is hosting this wonderful Franklin County Dog Shelter Dog for a holiday sleepover

She fits in like she’s always been here

@ 8 months old ,
She is almost fully housebroken, except when foster mom didn’t open the back door fast enough this AM, but that’s where she had her accident … at the back door as I was unlocking it ! What a good girl!!!! She just cudnt hold it any longer, which isn’t unusual since she slept through the night and was also recently spayed.

With crate feedings, routines & some guidance, she is taking very well to crate training !

She naps in the crate I put in the kitchen when I’m in there working.

She has a healthy fear of Foster Cat Snickers & just walked away when the cat took her dog bed last night.

She is always looking back at me to make sure she can still see me , even when she is following the dogs.

She loves being with the dogs and would do best in a home with at least one other dog.

You can tell she wants some socialization and she’s responding beautifully.

She slept well & had no accidents overnight.

Please let me know if I can tell you anything more about this beautiful gem.

She is available for adoption at Franklin County Dog Shelter although you might not find her on the web sight.
