Welcome John Snow (Harry) back to STS!

Harry's world recently turned upside down when his owner, who loved him very much, faced tough times and could no longer care for him. At just 2 years old and about 30 lbs (a few extra due to his love of cheese!), Harry is searching for a forever home where he can feel safe, cherished, and loved.

Harry initially may seem a bit cautious with new faces, but give him a moment to warm up, and you’ll find the sweetest soul who simply wants to be close to you—preferably sprawled across your lap! His favorite pastime is curling up on his foster’s lap while she works, soaking up all the love and attention he can get.

Harry is a dream companion—completely potty trained, a pro at sleeping through the night in his crate, and always up for a cuddle. But don’t let his snuggle game fool you; he absolutely lives for his walks! Say the word “walk,” and Harry will do a little happy dance, complete with adorable grumbles of excitement as he urges you to hurry up and grab those shoes.

This resilient little guy may have faced some big changes, but his heart remains full of hope. Harry knows his perfect forever home is out there!

Marysville OH - who would have thought Chloe would still be here? Yes, she is a special placement but her perfect home has to be out there. Once she learns to trust you, this girl loves you completely. Chloe is approx 2 years old. Very timid, it will likely take a week before she will want to interact with you. She likes other dogs but can be a bully, cats are a no go. Due to fear level, no kids. She also needs a securely fenced yard. She is a pro at escaping collars and harnesses and is a flight risk. I know this sounds like a lot, but once she makes that breakthrough with you, she is AMAZING

This sweet girl has a big personality and even bigger dreams, to find a forever home that truly appreciates her charm and sassy smart vibes!

Looking for a dog that’s got more personality than your average sitcom character? Meet Anita. She’s not just any foster dog—she’s the queen of sass, the master of charm, and your future best friend (if you can handle her).

Social Butterfly Extraordinaire: Anita struts into any room and instantly becomes the life of the party. Other dogs? She’s got them wrapped around her paw. The resident “grumpy Gus” of our household even likes her!

House-Trained Genius: Forget those horror stories about house training. Anita’s got it down to a science. One accident on day one and not one since - she could probably teach a masterclass on it—“Potty 101: How to Impress Your Humans and Keep Your Dignity.”

Crate Connoisseur: Anita doesn’t love her crate – but she’s learning to! She will go in when coaxed with treats and will sleep in it all night and while we’re gone without a peep (and no accidents!) but will not go in willingly….YET. We’ll get her there!

Sweet and Smart (But Mostly Smart): Anita’s got brains for days. She picks up new commands faster than you can say “sit.” Those big, soulful eyes? They’re her secret weapon for getting extra treats.

Social Media Star: Anita’s got a face for instagram, making her an instant hit on social media. , anyone?

So, if you’re looking for a dog who’s great with other dogs, house-trained, crate trained, and has more personality than most humans, look no further than Anita. She’s ready to fill your life with laughter, love, and endless entertainment. And who knows? She might even teach you a thing or two about house training.

Want a buddy for Thanksgiving?

Sleepover time for Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center shelter dogs -
Holiday Sleepover gives these dogs a much needed break when the the shelter is closed !
The benefits to dogs hosted by people for holiday Sleepovers are endless if you are willing to have an extra guest this Thanksgiving ! & you can host the dog longer than just Thanksgiving if you like !

ASL hosted a dog in this video last Christmas & she is now in a loving home !

ASL is full for Thanksgiving & cannot host a dog this holiday, but maybe one of you can!

& if you think it’s hard to “take them back” to the shelter, imagine what it’s like for them locked in kennels when the shelter is closed & low staff for days !!!!
Your company & home are much better no matter how long or short they stay, & it’s am amazing way to help a shelter dog!

No doubt Onyx knows his way around a kitchen, but we still can't seem to keep an apron on him! 🤣

Onyx is a delightful 2.5 yr old German Shepherd who adores both humans and other dogs. He came to STS from a vet office that reached out to us asking if we could help him as his owners were asking to euthanize him because he has EPI and they could not care for him.

His friendly nature makes him a joy to be around, and he thrives on companionship and interaction. He's been lovingly taken care of by his foster family, which includes another German Shepherd and cats and gets along well with them.

Onyx has a zest for life and enjoys a balanced mix of activities. He absolutely loves going on walks! However, he's also quite the couch potato and always a joy to be around. He is one well-mannered pup that is crate and potty trained!

Onyx has been diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), a condition where his pancreas doesn't produce enough digestive enzymes needed to properly digest food. This means he requires a special enzyme supplement and a prescription diet. Despite his medical condition, Onyx doesn't let it slow him down. With proper management and care, he leads a happy and fulfilling life. Potential adopters should be financially committed to maintaining his prescribed diet and ensuring he receives his enzyme supplement with every meal )About $400 a month.

A family that enjoys both outdoor activities and quiet evenings at home would be perfect for him. A home with canine siblings would be a bonus! A commitment to his ongoing care, including regular exercise and mental stimulation, is essential.

Welcome Dover to Stop the Suffering!

Dover is a 2 or 3 year old neutered male black lab mix. His foster family says he is the loviest, sweetest, smartest, easiest dog they have ever fostered. He is 75 pounds of a puppyish, playful attitude mixed with a chill, calm, old soul demeanor. He is a Golden Retriever personality in a Black Lab body. His foster family calls him “Slurp” because he has sooooo many kisses to give. He knows sit and is quickly catching onto other basic commands. His whistle recall never fails, and his self-control and composure around cats and squirrels is outstanding. Dover loves playing with his foster dog brother and doesn't pull on the leash when out on walks.

He is mostly house-trained which is great because it’s suspected he was an outside dog previously. He hasn’t met a stranger or a couch he didn’t like and he’s very good motivated to make you proud during training. He has some puppyish desires to chew on things he shouldn't - socks, pillows, shoes - but is easily redirected to a bone or dog toy. There have been no signs of any kind of aggressive behavior around any adults, teens, kids, cats and no resource guarding around food. He loves to wrestle with other dogs and run around the yard.

We think he will be excellent at catching grounders and playing fetch. He is drawn to the pond at his foster family home so would probably naturally love swimming. His foster family says he is extremely intelligent, a little goofy, and just 100% happy. They describe him as "pure perfection".
