This pet will be on stray hold for 72 hours (expires 02/17/2025). If not reclaimed within this period, Foothills Humane Society will assume ownership.

If you believe this pet is yours, please provide proof of ownership by:
-Emailing [email protected] OR
-Messaging us on Facebook OR
-Calling us at (828) 863-4444

Proof of ownership includes:
-Microchip number, AND/OR
-Several photos of the pet over time, AND/OR
-Veterinarian records with the pet's name, description, owner's name and address, and vaccination history, AND/OR
-Specific details about the pet (e.g., name, breed, size/weight, unique markings, s*x, spay/neuter status)

To reclaim your pet, proof of current rabies vaccination is required (per NCGS 130a-185):
-A rabies certificate with a valid date, OR
-Veterinarian records showing vaccination history with a valid date

*Note: A rabies tag alone is NOT proof of vaccination.
If your pet is NOT up to date on rabies, we can administer the vaccine here for $15 and you will be able to reclaim.

Meet Lainey, a 2-year-old Border Collie/Cattle Dog mix with a big heart and an even bigger brain! At 35 pounds, she’s the perfect size for all your adventures—whether it’s outdoor hikes, fun training sessions, or playful romps in the yard.

Lainey can be a little cautious at first, but once she trusts you, her true personality shines! She’ll show you her affectionate, playful, and incredibly loyal side. Plus, she’s been making huge strides at the shelter—she’s opening up more every day and having a blast playing with her doggy friends! While she prefers calm and easygoing canine companions, she’s done great in group play and is learning to build confidence.

She’s smart, active, and eager to bond with a family that understands her need for both mental and physical engagement. Already spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, she’s all set to find her forever home!

True to his hound nature, Milo isn’t shy about using his voice—he just wants to make sure everyone knows how happy he is! He’s super dog-friendly, playful, and incredibly tolerant with his furry pals. Plus, during his temporary foster stay, he was an absolute dream! He did wonderfully with kids and proved just how loving and well-mannered he can be in a home.
