🐾FeLV Friday: Angelo & Gordito🐾
Happy Friday! Today, we’re shining the spotlight on two amazing bonded boys, Angelo and Gordito, who we have featured before but are still waiting for their forever home. They are FeLV+ (feline leukemia virus positive), but that doesn’t stop them from being affectionate and loving companions. These sweethearts are currently in foster care, but we’d love to arrange a meeting for the perfect adopter! 💕
✨What is FeLV?✨
Feline leukemia (FeLV) is a virus that affects a cat’s immune system, making them more vulnerable to illness. With the right care and a stress-free environment, FeLV cats can live happy, fulfilling lives. Because FeLV can be transmitted to other cats through close contact, Angelo and Gordito need to either be the only cats in the home or live with other FeLV+ cats. They’re perfectly happy with just each other—or making new FeLV+ friends!

On this National Hug Day, we’re celebrating some of the most affectionate kitties at Colony Cats who are ready to give and receive love. These cats are purrfect cuddle companions and are looking for their forever homes. Could you be their special someone?

🐾Sheldon - top left, 12 years
Sheldon may not win a beauty contest, but his heart is as big as they come! This senior boy loves to snuggle on your shoulder and bring smiles wherever he goes. Despite his tough start, Sheldon is proof that love conquers all!

🐾Carson - top middle, 7 years
Carson isn’t pictured with his best friend Lena, but they’re a bonded pair and must go home together. Carson is a confident, chatty boy with a luxurious coat who absolutely adores Lena. Their love is inspiring, and they’re ready to share their bond with a loving family!

🐾Ricki - top right, 2 years
Ricki is a quirky and charming calico who will brighten your world with her loving purrs and sweet nature. She may be a bit sneezy, but some little sneezes can’t stop her from being the perfect cuddle buddy who’s ready to warm your heart!

🐾Jigglypuff - middle right, 8 months
Jigglypuff is bonded to his identical twin Wigglypuff and they must go together. These bonded brothers with Cerebellar Hypoplasia may need extra care, but their snuggles and happy purrs will fill your home with joy! They love playtime, cozying up together, and showing that they’re worth every bit of effort.

These boys have an unbreakable bond. They are both FeLV+ and must go to a home with other FeLV positive kitties or with no other cats. Together, they’ve overcome challenges and are now ready for a cozy home where they can share their love!

🐾Luke & Leia - bottom Left, 7 months
These tabby siblings are inseparable! Luke relies on Leia for confidence, and they love exploring the world together. Double the love and double the snuggles—they’re ready to bring joy to their forever family!

❄️Freezing Weather Alert: Save Outdoor Cats❄️

As the temperatures drop dangerously low, outdoor cats are at serious risk. Every year, many cats lose their lives to freezing weather—but you can make a difference by providing a simple, life-saving shelter.

There are many ways to build outdoor cat shelters, and these images show more advanced options if you have the time and resources. However, even a basic styrofoam cooler filled with straw can be incredibly effective in protecting these vulnerable kitties!

🐾Easiest DIY Shelter🐾
1️⃣Use a styrofoam cooler as the base.
2️⃣Cut a 6-8” hole near one end for an entrance (a pumpkin carver works great for this!).
3️⃣Secure the lid with duct tape to keep it in place.
4️⃣Fill the cooler with straw, which helps retain heat without holding moisture (don’t use blankets or hay).
