(You don’t have to travel to a galaxy far far away to meet bonded kittens Luke and Leia 🌌✨ (DOB: 6/20/2024). They came to us as very scared hissy kittens but have made a lot of progress.

🌙Luke (tabby arms) : is still a little shy, but he does love pets, especially butt scratches. Luke is still a little aloof, but he really enjoys interactions with his foster siblings and his sister, Leia. He especially enjoys playing and rough housing with his sister Leia.

☀Leia (white arms, beauty spot): she especially loves sitting on laps and cuddling in bed with her foster humans. She is very curious and obsessed with all toys. She is pretty quiet unless she is playing. She can be a bit of a daredevil, jumping to high surfaces and exploring every square inch of her foster home.

They would be happier in a quiet home as new people can still make them nervous. You can meet these adorable siblings by making an appointment with their foster family. To apply to adopt them click here:https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html

🐾Milan (8 years old, female, top right) has been waiting since May 2022. This resilient black-and-white senior with kidney disease is affectionate, loves sunbathing, chatting with other cats, and would be the perfect companion for a calm household.
🐾April-May (4 years old, female, top left) has been waiting since March 2023. Shy but sweet, this tabby girl warms up with time and loves her hobbies, like birdwatching, testing treats, and chasing her laser pointer. She’s as curious as she is adorable!

Happy New Year! To start 2025 we are featuring Cat Whitney as our first Volunteer of the Month for January 2025. Cat has been part of Team Cat for 2 years and she's truly a cat whisperer. She adopted a cat who had been in our adoption center for several years and would stay up high as she never had any interest in humans...until Cat came along. We are very fortunate to have such a caring and dedicated volunteer. Thank you Cat!

If one of your New Year's Resolution is to donate your time to a nonprofit, consider joining Colony Cats' Team Cat. Email us at [email protected] for more information.

Help us continue to save, love, heal, and adopt in 2025!

Considering your 2024 year end tax-deductible donations? Please include Colony Cats! Because of your support, we counted over 1,700 adoptions going into December and countless TNR surgeries, and provided much needed specialized medical help to many cats & dogs, including Richard (cat with the harness stuck to his body); the cat caught in a fence who needed a leg amputated; and a lovely female cat brought to us dying because of dead fetuses decomposing in her body. We helped them all!
Our all-volunteer team works to love and heal those brought in and prepare them for adoption through medical care and/or fostering.
As a recognized Best Friends No-Kill Shelter, cats in our care are safe and provided a haven to heal from past trauma and await their forever homes.
Your donations spread hope, healing and LOVE! We couldn't do what we do without YOU!
Your tax-deductible donation makes an immediate impact and fuels our mission to address cat overpopulation in central Ohio through public awareness and spay/neuter efforts. We know that every pet deserves the love found in a forever home.
Visit our profile or website and click the donate button. We also have Amazon and Chewy wish lists. You can drop off donations directly to our adoption center as well.
Wishing you a new year full of positivity and love.

🐾FeLV Friday: Meet Palo!🐾

Palo is a stunning 2-year-old tabby with the sweetest personality. Found abandoned, this gentle boy is looking for a quiet and loving home where he can finally feel safe and cherished. While he’s a little shy at first, Palo warms up quickly with patience—and treats! He’s a food-motivated sweetheart who will absolutely steal your heart.

Palo is FeLV+, meaning he has feline leukemia virus. While the virus affects a cat’s immune system and can make them more susceptible to illness, many FeLV+ cats live happy, healthy lives with the right care. This condition is not contagious to humans, dogs, or other species but can be transmitted to other cats. For this reason, FeLV+ cats need to live alone or with other FeLV+ cats.

Palo is currently in foster care, so if you’d like to meet him, reach out to us or fill out an adoption application online at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html. Let’s find this resilient boy the forever home he deserves!

🎄Christmas Miracles: Give the Gift of Love to These Special Cats🎄

Firstly, we just want to start off by saying Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! This holiday season, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone following and supporting us. Your kindness and generosity make all the difference for the cats in our care!❤️🐾

Today, we’re celebrating the resilient spirits of our special double-positive cats (FeLV+/FIV+). These incredible kitties face unique challenges but have so much love to give. Could you give them the Christmas miracle they deserve?

🤍💙 Angelo & Gordito: 3 and 2 years, bonded males
This inseparable pair brings twice the love and laughter! Angelo, with his snowy white coat, and Gordito, his gray-and-white brother, are looking for a forever family who can appreciate their unique bond and joyful energy.

💚 Murtagh: 7 years, male
A ruggedly handsome brown tabby with a golden heart, Murtagh dreams of a quiet home where he can relax and share peaceful, loving moments with his special person. Murtagh is also diabetic and must receive treatment for this.

💛 Boobala: 3 years, male
The snuggle champion of the group, Boobala is a calm and cuddly tabby-and-white sweetheart. If you’re looking for a laid-back companion who thrives on affection, he’s the one for you.

What does it mean to be double positive?
These cats are FeLV+ (feline leukemia virus positive), which means they must live either as the only feline in their home or with other FeLV+ cats because FeLV is transmitted through saliva, shared food bowls, or grooming. However, their FIV+ (feline immunodeficiency virus positive) status does not require isolation from other cats. FIV is not easily spread and requires deep bite wounds to transmit, so they can safely live with FIV-negative, FeLV-positive cats as long as all are friendly and spayed or neutered.

All of these wonderful kitties are currently living in foster care. To meet them, please reach out to us directly or fill out an adoption application online at https://colonycats.org/cat_adoption_app.html.

🎁This Christmas, give the gift of a loving home.🎁
Double-positive cats often wait longer for adoption, but they are just as deserving of love and care. Let’s make this a Christmas to remember—for them and for you!
