Happy National Dog Day from my pup Meeko!! Meeko is a 7 year old mixed breed rescued from Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter about 4 years ago! He is a big reason I got involved in pet care and volunteering with One Love Dog Rescue ❤️

Last night was my last night helping with Lily for the past 8 months! A bitter sweet moment but thrilled to share we have found her a temporary foster and she will be moved tomorrow to her new place ❤️

We have GREAT news, just in the nick of time!! We have a foster that is going to
take Lily in!! We would like to show our thanks to her new foster and our love to Lily by sending her with everything that she needs and wants. She really deserves it!! Just like people, no dog is perfect. They have anxieties, fears and other emotional issues. Lily’s rehoming was not due to anything that she did. She got a raw deal and didn’t deserve it. She has a lot of love to give and deserves a good home. We will be continuing to post her while she is in her foster home to find her that right fit. Thank you for sharing her posts. Thank you to those who reached out to offer help. And PLEASE continue to share her future posts.

By popular demand (lol!) sharing some wedding pictures! We had the most wonderful wedding and honeymoon cruise to Dominican Republic, Turks and Caicos & Bahamas. We then stayed a couple extra days in Orlando and went to Universal Studios and Disney Springs! Back to regularly scheduled programming today and more pup photos soon!

Please read!! This is a huge holiday for pets to go missing 😭😭

🎆🎆🎆WARNING……TODAY IS THE DAY THAT MANY WILL GO MISSING AND SADLY MANY WON’T MAKE IT BACK HOME . PLEASE TAKE IT SERIOUSLY!!

Be prepared during the day and the night . They can go off at any time . Many events being held will also shoot them off . These sounds can travel to the surrounding towns .

While many will celebrate , fireworks will TERRIFY your pets . Do not leave your pets outside unattended at all. It takes only seconds for them to escape . Prepare now to be sure all doors/windows/gates/fencing are secured . Check them continuously as guests , workers may leave them open . Keep them indoors with the tv and /or music on to dull out the sound .

They do not know what they are and the mere sound of them will cause your pet to want to escape out of fear.

Sadly, many escape your yard , your home , have run direct into traffic and even jump out of windows to their death . Some will tremble in fear, and try to hide in the smallest of areas . Some will have heart attacks . Many will go missing during this time and will never be found and sadly many do not survive this 😔.

❌IMPORTANT SAD REALITY : PUT COLLARS AND TAGS ON ❌

If your pet is found deceased on certain roads and does not have any id (collar/tags) and picked up by Dept of Transportation (DOT) or DPW….95% of the time, your pet will be DISCARDED in the trash with little chance of retrieving them and having any closure !!!!

Keep them safe !🎆🎆🎆
