Halloween can be a spooky experience for pets with the lights, sounds, costumes and strangers coming up to your door. Also, all the halloween treats that are around can be dangerous for your pets as well. Here are some Halloween Safety Tips:

👻 Don't feed pets Halloween treats. Raisins can cause your pet’s kidneys to fail, and candy may contain substances toxic to pets, such as chocolate or xylitol (a common sugar substitute found in sugar-free candies and gum).
🎃 Make sure your pets have identification (microchip, collar, and ID tag) that will make it easy for someone to contact you and return them home in case they escape through an open door while you're distracted with trick-or-treaters.
👻 Keep lit candles, jack-o-lanterns, and other Halloween decorations out of reach of pets.
🎃 Keep all human costume pieces away from pets, along with glow sticks, decorations, batteries, and other holiday items.
👻 If your pet is wary of strangers or has a tendency to bite, put them in a room away from the front door during trick-or-treating hours, or provide them with a safe hiding place.
🎃 Keep your pet indoors.

A veterinary technician, or vet tech, is a medical professional who works with veterinarians to provide animal health care. They perform various tasks, including nursing care, laboratory work, imaging such as radiographs, and preparing patients for surgery. They also administer treatments, keep records, care for animals, and restrain them.

All technicians work very hard and are passionate about their job. Let's take a moment this week to thank our technicians for their fantastic hard work!

Bernadette and Howard had their first vet visit with us today. These two were adopted by their owners from For The Love of Cats Rescue and Adoption, we are so happy they found their furever home.

And it all started with The Big Bang!
