Important Information about Kennel Cough from The Pawz Cafe:
At The Pawz Cafe, we prioritize the health and wellbeing of your furry friends. Kennel Cough, also known as infectious tracheobronchitis, is a common and highly contagious respiratory infection in dogs. It is caused by a combination of viruses and bacteria, including Bordetella Bronchiseptica. Here’s what you need to know:
1.) Symptoms- Kennel Cough usually presents as a persistent cough, but in severe cases, it can lead to difficulty breathing and lethargy. If your dog shows any of these symptoms, please keep them at home and consult your veterinarian.
2.) Prevention- While there is a vaccine for kennel cough, it is not 100% effective. However, it can reduce the severity of symptoms. Keeping your dog’s vaccinations up to date is crucial!
3.) Our Commitment- At The Pawz Cafe, we maintain a clean and hygienic environment. We regularly sanitize our facilities and seperate any dogs showing signs of illness to prevent spread of infection.
4.) When to Seek Help- If your dogs symptoms worsen or do not improve, it’s important to seek veterinary care. Puppies, senior dogs, and those with weakened immune systems are at higher risk for complications.
5.) Our Policy- To ensure the safety of all our guests, we ask that you only bring your dog to The Pawz Cafe if they are healthy. If your dog has been diagnosed with kennel cough, please wait until they have fully recovered before returning to our facility.
We all deeply care about your dogs health and your peace of mind. For more information or to discuss any concerns, please contact us.
