Happy two year anniversary to US! Today marks two years of High Tail Grooming Salon. We appreciate all the love and support we’ve received from each and every single one of you over these two years so much! Happiest of birthdays to our sweetest boy, Gibby! Today Gibby turns 9 and you can just tell by looking at the pictures how sweet this boy is. Gibby was the dog that started it all for us, so he has an extra special place in our hearts!

If you’ve ever had a puppy come in to us, they’ve probably spent some quality time cuddling Papa Gib; puppies love Gibby!

In his free time, Gibby loves nothing more than taking a good nap and finding any sort of snack. We love you, sweet angel Gibby! 😇

We have some upcoming hour changes for the holidays!

We will be closed next week Monday-Thursday, and back open on Friday, December 27th for normal hours.

We will be open on December 31st at 8AM for walk-in nail trims, and our daycare will be closing early that day at 4PM.

We will be closed all day on January 1st.

Thanks for your understanding, and we wish all of you the happiest of holidays and well-being going into the new year!

Meet the shop dogs, Clooney edition!

Clooney is our owner/groomer’s 5yr old Gold Retriever. He’s the goofiest guy and he spends his days at the shop acting as self-appointed security guard/vibe-checker. He loves swimming and playing with his older brother Gibby. A fun fact about Clooney is that he periodically finds random items around the shop (toys, cones, leashes, literally ANYTHING) and will walk around the shop showing it off to each individual person.

We love you, Clooney! (Aka Cootie, Tooter, Rooter-Tooter)

We’ve had a lot of questions and confusion regarding some of our policies recently so we wanted to make a master post explaining them!

We do require and up-to-date rabies AND bordetella vaccine on file to be able to groom any dog, and an up-to-date rabies on file to groom cats. We require these at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment time. If these are not received before 48 hours, we cannot guarantee we can keep your appointment time.

We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If your appointment is cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment time, there may be a late cancellation/rescheduling fee that must be paid in full before we’re able to see your pet.

We have a 15 minute late policy. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment time, we cannot guarantee that we will still be able to see your pet, which could result in a late cancellation fee.

We have a one hour pickup policy from the time of completion. From the time of the pickup phone call we give, you have one hour to pick up your pet. If it gets past the one hour mark, there may be a daycare fee that would have to be paid, and your pup will be transferred next door to our daycare facilities.

We cannot stress this enough, KEEP YOUR DOGS ON A LEASH IN THE PARKING LOT! We have had to assist owners in retrieving their dogs far too many times due to them being off leash and heading towards the main road. It may feel like a slight inconvenience but it guarantees your dogs safety. Thank you!!!

Meet Frankie, one of our shop dogs!

Frankie is one of our groomer’s, Nicole’s, King Charles Cavalier. He is 3 years old, and in most of his pictures, you can see his lil tongue sticking out. This is due to a few different disorders he has that are directly related to poor breeding practices.

Frankie is the sweetest little guy and we love him so much, but his quality of life is not where it should be for a dog of his age due to his disorders. Besides his tongue sticking out, he tends to have some nerve pain along the right side of his body that can flare-up from even something as simple as petting him on that side. His mom does such an amazing job of getting him all the care he needs, but we wanted to post about him and his neurological disorders as it is SO important to make sure you’re getting puppies from reputable breeders who health test their dogs, or even ADOPT! Here at High Tail Grooming Salon, we’re big supporters of adoption and we encourage anyone who does get a dog from a breeder to do your research and make sure your breeder gets their dogs tested.
