🐾🐾Meet Dr. Nunnally!🐾🐾

Dr. Ethan Nunnally is the newest veterinarian to join our team!

Dr. Nunnally is a 2020 graduate from The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. (Go Dawgs!) After graduation Dr. Nunnally spent his first years out of vet school practicing medicine in Iowa, but eventually made his way back to his hometown of Clermont, where he and his wife now reside.

At work, he has a special interest in surgery, including orthopedic surgery. He also likes to meet clients and form relationships with them and their pets! Dr. Nunnally is now taking appointments, seeing patients, and doing surgery at both our Banks and Downtown locations!

Outside of work, you can usually find him hunting, fishing, spending time with his wife, or cheering on the Dawgs and Braves!

Fun Fact: When he was 7, he tripped at school and sliced off the tip of his ear! He carried it to the nurses office for help like a champ. 😀 But don’t worry, a quick ER visit fixed the issue, and we bet you won’t even notice when you’re at your pet’s next appointment with him.

🐾 It’s been a BUSY few months so it’s time “paws” for a quick update! 🐾

Can you believe it’s been almost SIX MONTHS since we opened our second location just north of Banks Crossing in Banks County?

Here’s what has happened in the last six months….
🐶 Two new full time veterinarians and one part time veterinarian have been added to our staff!
🐱Both locations are now open daily and fully functionally offering a wide variety of services!
🐶A groomer has been added to our staff at our Banks location!

What this means for our clients!
🐾We are now taking appointments and walk-ins daily!
🐾Grooming appointments are available Monday-Friday!
🐾Surgical appointments are available at both locations daily and we can get most cases in within one week of request!

Booking an appointment has never been easier! You can call us at either location, regardless of which location you prefer! With a software system that is synced together, our front desk team at both locations can help you book an appointment, refill your pet’s medication, or just answer general questions you may have. Appointments can also be requested via the online pet portal, which is easily accessible by simply providing an email address to our front desk team!

We have spent the majority of 2024 implementing new software systems, opening our second location, and expanding our services so we can offer more services to our community, reach more of our community, and better serve our community! We are committed to doing our best for you guys and serving the best way we know how, by providing exceptional veterinary care at an affordable price! Thank you to those of you that choose us for your pets’ needs and refer us to your friends and family! We appreciate you! ❤️

Meet the staff Monday, but on a Tuesday, because ya know, Mondays are just a little manic around here! 😅😆

🐾Meet Jacob! Jacob is one of our dedicated technicians that works primarily at our Banks location. Jacob’s favorite part of veterinary medicine is the relationships he gets to build with clients and patients. His favorite part of working at CVH is the bonds he has been able to create with the patients he has encountered. He has such a love for the patients and can quickly gain their trust in all situations! He also enjoys helping in surgery and being a part of the patient’s recovery when in our care for surgical procedures.

Outside of work, Jacob enjoys playing with his Dobermans Maddie, Jules, Elliot, and Fez. He also enjoys a good nap or playing video games with his best friends. See Jacob’s quick question and answer of this or that below to learn even more about his personality and why everybody loves Jacob!🐾

👻🎃 Happy Halloween! 🎃👻

We pranked two of our fav veterinarians today by dressing up as them for Halloween! Our Banks crew dressed up as Dr. Fagan and our Downtown crew dressed up as Dr. Phillips. It took them a minute to catch on, but boy was it funny when they did! The costumes were one point for the people and the CVH mascots today! We have laughed all day about this one! 🤣

❤️❤️❤️ We wrapped up “Tech Week” by showing the staff just how much of a “piece of our heart” they each have by celebrating with pizza and a permanent jewelry party! ❤️❤️❤️

Our staff is truly amazing. There isn’t enough room in one post to list all of the reasons they are so great, name all of the hats they each wear every day, or to convey just how thankful we are for them! We had the best time celebrating this week. From Chick-fil-A breakfast for the “Cluckin’ Best Staff”, to the pieces of permanent jewelry with our friend Shelby at Savvy Mama and Co, this week of appreciation was a blast! Our techs also each received a personalized gift to highlight their hard work and dedication to their profession! (If you don’t know what “ADR” in vet med is, Google will make you giggle when you look it up. 🤣) We are so thankful for our people and all they do to make CVH such a great place! We hope they feel loved and appreciated as CVH employees all year round, but especially this week!

Thank you for all you do guys! CVH is lucky to have you! ❤️

Best day ever. 😍

Today the “MVPs of Vet Med” were treated to an all day concession stand, their favorite drinks from Cherry Street Nutrition, a delicious treat from Annie Belle’s Bakery, and a “Make Your Own Bouquet” Flower Bar from Simple Blessings Floral Designs! So many smiles from our staff that deserve all of this and more! 💐

Happy Tech Week! Two more days of puns and fun for the best staff in town! 😬❤️

It’s Vet Tech Week and we just have to
🌮 TACO’BOUT THE BEST STAFF EVER! 🌮

National Veterinary Technician Week happens to be the perfect week to celebrate our amazing staff members. They so selflessly give so much of their time and heart to our patients and our clients every day! One week isn’t quite enough time for all of the catchy puns we could come up with to show just how thankful we are for them, but we will spend this entire week throwing around silly puns, lots of treats, and so many words of praise to show them how appreciated they are! Today we celebrated with their favorite meal, Taco Tuesday! 😋

We will admit that we are biased, but CVH truly has some of the best employees around and the clinic just wouldn’t be the place it is without them! ❤️

🐾 The Crossing Cats🐾

Everyone knows Banks Crossing has an overpopulation of stray cats. In late July, we made a decision to put our efforts and resources towards making a difference in our community by making a difference in the health of this stray population. We quickly began working on what we knew would be a huge project that later became known as “The Crossing Cats!” to our staff! 🐱

Our new location, Commerce Veterinary Hospital at Banks, provided an opportunity for us to expand our services and we knew it was the perfect location for this project. We spoke with county officials to ensure setting traps in the area was okay and also passed out letters to local restaurants and businesses so they were aware what our plans were. Our staff has been amazing and willing to volunteer their skills and time, and we have been able to team up with several of our great partners in vet med to make this happen at NO COST to our Banks and Jackson County communities!

We have multiple traps with bright orange signs on the top of each one that are currently being set 3 days per week and are checked on a rotating basis by various team members. Traps are NEVER set if it is too hot, too cold, rainy, or if we feel conditions are not suitable for any reason. (We promise that the health of these animals is of the utmost importance to us, always!) If a stray is captured, they are brought to the office where they are vaccinated, tested for contagious disease, spayed or neutered, and given flea and tick medication. They are well cared for by our skilled staff while in our care but are never in captivity for long periods of time, as that can cause severe stress to cats that are “feral.” While we have been working on this project for quite some time, we have withheld from publicly sharing because we know that “TNR” (trap-neuter-release) can be controversial for some, but these types of programs have so many benefits for the cats in areas like Banks Crossing! Last week we received some questions from a group that noticed the traps. We wanted to take a moment to address those questions publicly and ask our community and those passing through to please not touch, move, or damage the traps if you see them on your next fast food run. This project has been quite a big one and it has taken a village! We have high hopes of “completing” it before Banks Crossing gets busy with Christmas shoppers!

As many of you know, the majority of our staff not only work here but also live here, many living here their entire lives. This project has been near and dear to our hearts and one of our favorite community service projects we’ve been a part of thus far! We cannot wait to share final numbers of just how many cats we were able to help when we are able to finally complete “The Crossing Cats!” ❤️

😭😭 Bring on the tears! 😭😭

With the help of our AMAZING staff, clients, and community, today we were able to deliver over 3,000 POUNDS of dog and cat food, along with countless other much needed pet supplies to our vet med friends in North Carolina! This afternoon the majority of this delivery will be taken directly into Swannanoa, North Carolina, one of the hardest hit areas, while the rest will be disbursed to other surrounding areas in desperate need of pet food and supplies as so many of them lost everything they had.

We have always strongly believed in the saying of building a longer table, not a taller fence and with the help of so many people we were able to give back in a way that brought us all to tears today! We are blessed to live and work in this community and we are thankful for the best staff and community surrounding us that truly make things like this possible!

Thank you to everyone who donated. Thank you to our awesome staff members who worked so hard on this project on this week! And especially THANK YOU to our clients that continue choosing us for your pets’ care all year round, as that is what makes things like this possible for our office! We appreciate each of you. We ask that you all continue your prayers and sending your love to the Carolinas, as the devastation is unimaginable.

[Any further donations will go directly to the donation site set up at The Jackson County Agriculture Facility that will be delivering supplies to the hardest hit areas of Georgia.]

🚨 Donation Drive for Disaster Relief! 🚨

Our hearts break for everyone involved, and we know there are so many pets that need care and supplies, just as people do. We could not sit by idle any longer as we continue seeing the devastation in our surrounding states. We decided we had to find a way to help our neighbors in WNC!

One of our vet med friends in Charlotte, NC, is partnering with DEGA Mobile Veterinary Clinic to provide disaster relief for people and animals affected by recent events. We’re stepping up to help, and we would love your support!

💙 Some items we’re collecting:

Dog & cat food, litter, and crates
First Aid Supplies
Towels, bowls, and collars
Paper towels and clorox wipes
Bottled water
Laundry supplies

Your donations will go directly to helping families and pets in need. CVH, as well as our employees, will all also be making large donations to this effort! Every little bit helps, and we’ll be accepting donations at our clinic (Downtown and Banks) until Wednesday morning at 10am when they will then be delivered to a central donation point.

Let’s come together as a community and make a difference! 💪

Thank you for your support! 💙🐾

UPDATE! Our Banks county location will remain closed today due to a power outage! If your pets are currently at our Banks location, don’t panic. They have been well loved and taken care of already this morning and we will have very limited staff here throughout the day to continue that care for them. Our Downtown location is now open and operating with very limited staff. Please be patient with us as we work through this unpredictable day.

At this time, we will open at 10am at both locations.

A power outage is affecting our Banks location. We will make adjustments to hours at both locations and announce it here as the morning progresses.

Thank you all for being patient with us.

🌀 Hurricane Helene is on her way and we are working hard (or hardly working 🤣) to get prepared at CVH!🌀

While we may be cracking jokes to keep us sane, we want to ensure our clients and community that we are taking the forecast and warnings very seriously! Right now, we do have plans to remain open with regular business hours, however we may have to make adjustments to our hours at both locations as weather conditions continue to deteriorate. The safety of our staff, clients, and patients is of utmost importance to us, and we will make all of our decisions based on that as the storm begins to roll in.

Follow us on our socials for updates regarding any necessary adjustments we have to make over the next 24 hours! (It’s the perfect time to follow us on TikTok for all things cute and funny at CVH! 😁) We will also send out email notifications to all of our clients that are subscribed to our emails with updates!

We hope your family, including your furry family members, all stay safe during this massive storm! 🐾

🌧️Weather Alert!🌧️

Severe weather is forecasted for our area over the next several days. If your pets need a dry, safe place to stay over the course of the storm, please call us tomorrow for reservations. We are now accepting boarders at both our Downtown and Banks locations!

At this time, we have no plans of closing the office. However, with this forecast we cannot predict, nor control, the weather or power outages caused by the storms that may put us in a position to be unexpectedly closed or extremely short staffed. We will continue to monitor the weather and will keep everyone updated via social media and our client communication apps if our plans change.

We hope everyone in our area, and those along the beautiful gulf coast, stay safe throughout the remainder of the week! 🐾
