These adorable mixed-breed puppies are our college litter! They're tough little guys, having been rescued after being dumped not once, but twice. Initially arriving in very poor condition, riddled with intestinal parasites and ringworm, these tiny, malnourished pups have flourished in our care and are now thriving, happy, and ready for adoption!

At nearly three months old, each pup is starting to showcase their unique personalities. Brevard, the only male, is a big boy with a heart full of playfulness, always ready for a game! Campbell and Pfeiffer are the ultimate snuggle bugs, relishing every cuddle and affection they can get. Lenoir and Salem are curious adventurers who love to explore their surroundings and discover new things.

We anticipate that these sweet puppies will be medium-large when fully grown, though that’s just a guess! If you’re ready to welcome a loving companion into your family, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Call us at (704) 784-7387 to set up an appointment to meet these precious pups.

Please remember that the minimum age to adopt is 21 years old and that you must be a resident of the Cabarrus Mecklenburg area as these puppies have not been spayed or neutered yet (but do have a date set that's included in the adoption fee of $190).

Meet Azul and Blanca Nyx, a bonded mother-daughter pair of toy poodles looking for their forever home together!

Azul, with the blue coat, is eight years old and weighs in at 6.5 pounds, while her four year old daughter Blanca is a playful white poodle at 4.5 pounds. The girls were surrendered to us by their owner and are slowly settling into their new environment. Initially scared and defensive, they have transformed into sweet and affectionate girls who are eager to share their love with the right family.

Once Blanca recognizes you as a friend she becomes a constant bundle of excitement, eagerly trying to get as close as possible. With her wiggly little body, she’ll even leap up to your shoulder if you’re kneeling nearby, showering you with kisses and excitement. Her playful spirit is infectious, and she thrives on affection. Azul, on the other hand, is a bit more reserved being the mother figure. While she may give a growl or two at first, her loving nature quickly shines through as she nudges her head into your hand, thanking you with gentle licks. She exhibits a calm, nurturing presence that complements Blanca’s exuberance perfectly.

The two are deeply bonded, with Blanca always keeping an eye on her mother, ensuring they stay together as they navigate their new surroundings. They will both need to be adopted into the same home as we will not be separating them. They would do best in a low-traffic home free of small children, allowing them the time they need to feel safe and secure. This dynamic duo would flourish in a patient environment where they can continue to build trust and confidence.

While we don’t know how they would do with other dogs, any potential canine siblings would need to be their size, and a meet-and-greet would be necessary to ensure a good match. Currently, Azul and Blanca are being treated for skin allergies, so follow-up care with a veterinarian may be required.
If you’re interested in meeting this delightful duo and giving them the loving home they deserve, please call us at (704) 784-7387 to make an appointment. Azul and Blanca can’t wait to find their forever family! 🐾❤️

*These girls are a bonded pair, and MUST be adopted together. Homes with small children or large dogs will not be considered out of the best interest for Blanca and Azul. Adopters must be in the Cabarrus/Mecklenburg area as the girls have not been spayed yet, but do have a date set for their surgery here in Concord.*

Introducing Bailey and Maggie Cole, a sweet bonded pair of Chihuahuas searching for a loving family to call their own. These girls came to us from a rescue partner after the passing of their owner. Maggie, the white and grey lady, is almost seven years old and weighs around eight pounds. With her gentle and independent spirit, she takes her time warming up but has a heart full of affection once she feels comfortable. Bailey, who we think may be her daughter, is about three years old and seven pounds. She's bursting with personality! This little lovebug will shower you with attention and cuddles once she trusts you. Her playful antics are sure to bring a smile to your face!

Both are typical Chihuahuas-vocal and curious, they prefer to bark first and investigate later. They would thrive best in a calm environment without small children and would need a meet and greet with any other dogs in the household to ensure everyone gets along.

If you are interested in meeting this cuties, please call (704) 784 7387 or visit our website and fill out our online application.

🐾 URGENT FOSTER HOMES NEEDED! 🐾

We’re reaching out to our amazing dog-loving community for help! Due to construction in a section of our shelter, we need to find temporary fosters for 16 dogs as soon as possible.

Ideally, we’re looking for committed fosters for 2-3 weeks, but even a few days can make a huge difference. If you have the love and space to help, please consider opening your home to one of our pups.

Important: All potential fosters must go through an approval process, which includes:

1) Vet records for your current pets (dogs and/or cats)
2) A lease agreement or a letter from your landlord approving a dog if you rent.

If you can help, please reach out to us ASAP! You can call the shelter at (704) 784-7487 or email [email protected] to get set up as a foster or ask any questions you may have!

Sweet Bevin has been adopted!!

Bevin Layne is an adorable 8-month-old mixed breed weighing in at a charming 15.86 lbs. Still in his growing phase, we anticipate he’ll reach a maximum of 25 lbs—just the right size for snuggles!

This playful boy is all about fun and affection, especially when it comes to belly rubs. His sweet disposition makes him a perfect companion for families, and he thrives in environments filled with love and laughter.

As a young pup, Bevin is still learning the ropes, particularly with leash training and house manners. He’s eager to please and ready to soak up all the training he can get! Bevin would thrive in a home with children and would likely enjoy the company of other dogs, but a meet and greet is essential to ensure everyone gets along.

If you're interested in meeting this handsome boy, please call (704) 784 7387 to make an appointment!

Please remember:
- Minimum age to adopt is 21 years old.

Sunday update: it breaks my heart to say that we lost Parker tonight. He fought as hard as he could but he could not turn it around. We did our very best to try and save him. We still need to cover his vet costs and appreciate any donation in any amount to help us. Please vaccinate your pets.

UPDATE: (Friday) Parker has been transferred to the emergency vet and the cost of his care will be $3,000. If anyone would like to help us save this boy, we would be very grateful.

Today we’re reaching out for help with little Parker Lincoln, a sweet six-pound chihuahua mix who is in desperate need. While in the care of our friends at Lincoln County Animal Control, Parker started experiencing severe gastrointestinal issues that required immediate attention. He was rushed to an emergency vet, and now he needs our support to continue receiving the care he requires.

Parker was transported to our vet yesterday, where he was admitted for hospitalization. When he arrived, he was weak, lethargic, and cold. Although we are still working to confirm his full diagnosis, we do know that he has a severe hookworm infestation that has caused him to lose a significant amount of blood through his stool. Additionally, there’s a high likelihood that he may have Parvo. He’s currently receiving thermal and IV support, and we are relieved to see some signs of improvement this morning, but he still has a long road ahead.

The unexpected costs of Parker’s care are adding up, with an estimated total nearing $2,000. We are absolutely committed to doing everything necessary for Parker’s recovery, but we cannot do it alone. That’s why we’re turning to our community for help.

If you’re able to contribute, no amount is too small. Your generosity will go directly toward Parker's medical expenses. Donations can be made directly on this post, via PayPal at [email protected] (please mark as friends and family), debit/credit card over the phone by calling (704) 784-7387, or by mailing/dropping off a donation at our shelter: 2010 Wilshire Ct SW, Concord, NC 28025.

Thank you for any support you can provide for our little fighter, Parker!
