Artisan cheeses, pasture-raised meats, and farm fresh eggs located in Central Virginia HB and Danielle Hunter head up the cheese production and marketing.

Located on a multi-generational family farm in South Central Virginia, Spring Mill Farm is committed to providing the Lynchburg area with fresh and delicious cow and goat milk cheeses in a variety of styles. HB has a degree in Animal & Dairy Science from Virginia Tech, while Danielle has degrees in Animal Science and Microbiology from North Carolina Sate University. Both have a strong commitment t

owards local businesses and supporting the growth of a local food scene. Our base herd consists of a dozen dairy goats, and the milk is supplemented with goat's milk from another goat dairy in Blackstone. Current cheese production occurs in a leased facility, but our long term goals include the building of a Grade A dairy on the farm. Our cow's milk is provided by a small dairy three miles away with a base herd of 40 Jersey cows grazed year-round on pasture.

General information

Look for the following flavors of chevre at the market: *Ba*****ed (plain) *Herbes de Provence *Hellfire (habanero) *Cracked Pepper logs *Honey Lemon Lavender (new SPRING seasonal cheese!) Our goat's milk feta is back and better than ever! As always, the McLaurin, a raw cow's milk tomme (aged for over 100 days) will be available, cut to your request. Coming soon we'll have the return of our cow's milk camembert! Our cheeses are able to be purchased at multiple outlets around Lynchburg, Forest, Gladys, and Fredricksburg-- *Farmers Markets: On Saturday mornings, you can find Spring Mill Farm at the Lynchburg Community Market as well as the Forest Farmers Market (sold at the Auburnlea Farms tent). *Retail Outlets: Our cheeses are available for purchase at multiple locations -Lynchburg: Bedford Avenue Meat Shop, Magnolia's, Fresh Air Natural Foods, and the Farm Basket -Forest: Pints O' Plenty and Aylors -Gladys: The Grainery (Auburnlea Farm Store) -Fredricksburg: Foodie *Restaurants: Our cheeses can be tasted in dishes at the following locally-minded restaurants: Dish, Mangia, and Rivermont Pizza. Our beautiful, farm fresh eggs can be purchased at the Lynchburg Market. The Good Cherry in Forest also uses our eggs in a variety of baked goods and breakfast dishes.
