On September 25, 2024, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 2552, The Poison-free Wildlife Act.

This bill adds the deadly first-generation anticoagulants chlorophacinone and warfarin into the state’s existing moratorium of first and second-generation anticoagulants established under AB 1788 and AB 1322 in previous years.

Rodenticides continue to impact raptors and other wildlife and we at AAV are hopeful that other state’s follow California’s lead on such bans!

Dr. Aparicio and one of her puppy patients during our ongoing vaccination clinics 🤍💉
While we are currently vaccinating to prevent the spread of rabies, some of the village dogs we meet are not yet old enough to receive that immunization. This puppy wasn’t vaccinated today like its parents, but it did receive an oral dewormer and some cuddles!
