The horses are our first priority, no matter what the weather is doing at Leatherman Lane! So naturally, I walked over to feed with our barn manager this morning, just as we were getting a tornado warning. Which we agreed, didn't apply to us! 🤷‍♀️🤣🤦‍♀️ (In our defense, it was drizzling at the time).

Per usual, no damage here (thank God) Just a serious soaking for the care team & a bunch of unfazed horses who are living their best life here! 🫶☔️

Our farm equipment gets baths more than our horses do 🤣 gotta keep"m clean & well maintained so they last and look good!!

We lost a family member today… Chief has been fighting squamous cell carcinoma for some time. His owner & one of my dearest friends did everything in her power to help him fight! Today, he wanted to be done. Today, he wanted to stop fighting and rest. So today, we helped him do just that. With some of our barn family gathered around her (and many praying from afar), Colleen made the hardest decision a horse mom can make, to end his suffering and let him cross the rainbow ridge without her. She was inspiringly brave, and it was a beautiful sendoff. I am so thankful for our barn family, care team, and my amazing husband, who this has also hit very hard. Please lift this farm, our family, and my friend up in prayer and join us in celebrating a life well lived and the noblest of steeds, our Chief ❤

Our Story

LEATHERMAN LANE is a unique equestrian facility located in Concord, North Carolina. We are a private boarding and training barn, known for hosting clinics with top trainers from across the US during our Horsemanship Clinic Series throughout the year.

Leatherman Lane offers boarding to a select number of horses, trail riding by appointment, as well as clinics and private lessons throughout the year. You must have your own horse to participate in these clinics, lessons, and trail riding sessions (sorry,we do not have horses available for lease to ride our trails, you must have your own).
