Proudly offered for S, Country Grammar “Nelly” is a 12 year old, 16.2h Thoroughbred mare. She has extensive miles all around the Carolina’s in the 2’6” and 3’ hunters and equitation. She is brave to the jumps, has an auto lead change, and is quiet without being lazy. Nelly is very handy and loves the equitation and derbies, she has even done a few jumper classes before as well. She has brought her owner from moving off a medium pony to the 3’ in just a year and a half. She can be a little quirky so she’s not for a very timid rider, but she would do the 2’ and up for a more confident kid. Reasonably priced in the low-mid 5’s, please pm for info and videos.

I’m so bad about posting updates but we have been so busy showing! Last weekend Isla, Abi, Jocelyn, Archer, and Lauren took on Sedgefield at the Park and all came home with lots of ribbons! Isla and Garbanzo finished 3rd in the mini derby and had great ribbons in a very competitive short stirrup division. Abi and her new baby horse How You Doin showed in the long stirrup at his very first show and finished with several ribbons including a blue in the eq flat. Archer and Rovaniemi also showed in the long stirrup and reserve champions on Saturday. Jocelyn and Invisible Ink were weekend champions in walk trot poles. Lauren and Citadel had some good, consistent rounds in the special hunters at his first show and won a class on Sunday!

This weekend we were in Aiken for a PSJ show with Jorja, Beth, Melissa, Lilly, Mabry, and Jocelyn. Jorja and Scho Thyme were champions in the pre childrens eq Sunday and won the over fences both days. They were also reserve champion in the pre childrens hunters both days and Jorja won the 2’6” mini medal on Saturday. Beth and Karandash were champions in the low schooling jumpers in their first time moving up to the .90 together. Melissa and Fantastique had some great, consistent rounds and ended up reserve champion in a big hopeful jumper division. Lilly and Country Grammar were reserve champions in the age group eq on Saturday and also in the junior hunters on Sunday. Lilly also won the PSJ junior medal on Sunday with a lovely round. Mabry and her new horse Maverick showed in the limit hunters and age group eq flat and won the flat Sunday and had some great rounds and ribbons both days. Jocelyn and Invisible Ink were sadly all alone in the walk trot on Saturday but had some competition Sunday and ended up being champion!

Now available:
“Layla” is a 5 year old, 16h unraced Thoroughbred mare. She is easy going and sensible to ride, is a good mover and jumper, is brave to the jumps, and has an easy lead change. She has been ridden by IEA and IHSA riders and would be perfect to bring along by an experienced kid or amateur in a program. She has no vices, is sound, and easy to trailer. Layla will make a fabulous local hunter and she’s brave enough to go in the jumper ring too. She is reasonably priced in the low 5‘s, owner needs to sell as she has too many horses. Please pm for videos and more info.

We had a great time at PSJ Oktoberfest this past weekend! We had 2 riders move up to a new division and 2 horses we had never taken to a show before which made for an exciting weekend! Some highlights include:
Lilly and Country Grammar made their first show appearance since February and they moved up to the 3’ for the first time and had several blue ribbons.
Mabry and Prime Time Emmy moved up to the 2’9” for the first time and despite a learning moment they had some nice rounds and good ribbons.
Jessica and Harington made their debut together in the pre adult hunters and had some nice consistent rounds and ribbons in a competitive group! This was his first time in the hunter ring instead of the jumpers.
Jorja and Quicksilbur were champions in long stirrup on Saturday and won the 2’ mini medal on Sunday.
Brielle and Toss and Turn finally got to make their show debut and although Ty was nervous on Saturday, on Sunday he settled and they won the long stirrup eq over fences and were reserve champion!
Abi and Scho Thyme were second in the Ovation Derby on Sunday and were reserve champions both days in the pre childrens!
Jocelyn and Invisible Ink competed in walk trot both days and got ribbons in a big, competitive class of 10 mostly older riders! Jocelyn worked hard and did a great job listening to mom training her 😜
Beth and Fantastique were consistent and fast all weekend to win 2 hopeful jumper classes and come home with champion!
Ella and Archibald FF won every jumper class they were in over the weekend and Ella got to move up and try a 1.0m class and won with a smooth, quick round!

Thank you so much to the amazing parents for providing us all with our spooky decorations, plenty of snacks, and of course all the moral support. We couldn’t do it without you!

I’m so bad about horse show updates but we had a fabulous time at PSJ at Highfields this weekend! Highlights include Jocelyn and Invisible Ink winning their pleasure class Sunday, jorja and Quicksilbur winning the derby and being champion in long stirrup eq on Saturday and reserve in the hunters both days, Erika and Forrest Grand winning the 2’ mini medal on Sunday and finishing 5th in the derby, Campbell and Prime Time Emmy being reserve in the childrens hunter both days, Emily and Among the Stars winning the NCHJA childrens medal on Sunday with great ribbons in the childrens, and Katelyn and Oletta being champion Sunday in the childrens hunter and winning the NCHJA medal on Saturday. This show was bittersweet because Campbell and Emily are both off to college this fall. Campbell has been a student of mine since 2016 and Emily since 2018. They will be missed so much but they’ll be back to visit I’m sure! Thank you to all the parents for your help and support!!!

SOLD!!! Congratulations to One Above Farm on the purchase of Luna!

Offered for sale as her owner is off to college, Among the Stars “Luna” is a 9 year old, 15.3h appendix mare. Luna is the sweetest mare and is great to load, clip, etc. She has light show miles in the hunters through the 2’9” and is not a packer yet so she is not best for a beginner rider. She has a great jump and is a cute mover and as a bonus she is happy to hack out and trail ride too. She would be great for a good riding kid coming off a pony who has a limited budget. She is priced to sell in the low 5’s, located near Charlotte NC.

What a hot day for a show, but we started early and finished just after lunch! Congratulations to all our competitors on a job well done and thank you to our equine friends for playing so well in the heat. Congrats to our derby and challenge winners:
Jorja Hall and Quicksilbur in the crossrails mini derby
Charlotte Preece and Invisible Ink in the Beginner Eq Flat challenge
Lizzy Callahan-Fletcher and Keltic Lass in the Waters Edge Farm hunter derby
Finnleigh Connolly and Crystal Acres Twilight in the Equitation flat challenge!

Available for lease first of June:
Cool Beans “Noah” is an aged Thoroughbred gelding, 16.2h and big bodied. Noah is a crossrails-2’3” super star, he has been champion or reserve nearly every time out in the long stirrup this year. He is not spooky, he’s comfortable to ride (definitely a kick ride!) and has a good lead change… he gets a piece of the hack too. He is extremely easy to clip and load and he requires zero prep at the shows. He has very little maintenance and is a very easy keeper. Lease in the 4 figures, we are located near Charlotte NC.

I have been very bad about horse show updates over the last couple of months because we have been so busy showing! In April we attended 3 different horse shows.
Our first show was the Triangle C show in Raleigh, some highlights include:
Isla and Garbanzo champion Saturday in short stirrup hunter and 5th in the wee derby and wee equitation cup
Erika and Forrest Grand first show together in the short stirrup with good ribbons and 8th in the wee equitation cup
Archer and Keltic Lass reserve champion long stirrup hunter on Saturday and 10th in the wee derby
CeCe and Cool Beans great ribbons in long stirrup hunters and eq
Abi and Scho Thyme winners of the wee equitation cup and wee derby plus champion in long stirrup hunter Saturday and reserve Sunday
Sofia and Show Me The Facts champions in pre child adult jumpers
Ella and Archibald FF reserve champions in pre child adult jumpers
Melissa and Eye Candy champion puddle jumpers and winner of the puddle jumper classic
Caroline and Invisible Ink moved up to walk trot canter with good ribbons both days
Campbell and Stir It Up 4th in the hunter derby, 3rd in the eq cup and class winners in 15-17 equitation and .90m and 1.0m jumpers

Our next show was Aiken spring classic masters, Campbell and Stir It Up were our lone representatives but they had good rounds in a big older childrens and picked up a 4th in the NCHJA childrens medal.

Finally we rounded out April with Sedgefield at the Park in Raeford. Highlights include:
Mabry and Prime Time Emmy reserve champions in low childrens hunter on Sunday
Lauren and Forrest Grand reserve champions in low childrens hunter on Saturday
Nicole and Morocco champions in low adult hunter on Sunday
Jorja and Quicksilbur made their show debut in crossrails and won their equitation trip on Saturday!

Offered for sale:
“Chapel” is a 16.3h, 14 year old thoroughbred mare. After a short career on the racetrack she was then a broodmare. She is green under saddle but very smart and willing to learn. She has been lightly started over fences and seems brave and willing. She has been ridden by both kids and adults and prefers an experienced rider with quiet hands. She is not for a beginner since she is still green under saddle. She is happy to live outside and is good to trailer, shoe, etc. Chapel is up to date on shots, coggins, and her teeth.
She is priced in the low 4‘s, she needs to go as we need the stall. Please pm for video and details.
