Ever wonder what happens when we take you pet to the back? 🙊😍
We have so many wonderful clients and amazing patients. Nadia brings us so much joy every time she comes. Thank you for the dancing and prancing!
We aren’t the only ones excited for the weekend 🤩

The things you don’t always get to see “behind the scenes” 😻 Felix got so much love and attention today that he didn’t miss his testicles one bit 😅
Terriers are fun loving 🥰 They can also be a bit neurotic 😂
This sweet boy kept me laughing for several minutes during his exam 😊

Hero came in with significant calculus (tartar) and with intervention NOW, he only needed a couple of small teeth removed.
Hooray for quick dental cleanings!
Caution! Graphic video.🦮
This dog had come in for a routine annual vaccination appointment. The dog was eating well and acting normally for her owners. 🐶
During these exams we examine the dog including assessing the mouth and teeth. Depending on the animal’s temperament, is our ability to see every surface. This dog allowed us to see the outside of her 4th maxillary premolar, but no more. We told her wonderful owners that she greatly needed a dental based on what we could see. 🦷
Dentals are so IMPORTANT! 🪥With anesthesia we were able to open her mouth and fully assess the inside of her mouth! This foreign body had been stuck and rotting in this location for an unknown amount of time! It ate through the gingiva and caused the need for these teeth to be removed.
Takeaways!😊
Please work with your puppy on opening it’s mouth!!!! It is a simple, but hugely necessary “trick” that can save you and your pet pain, money, and grief!
Second, this is why we have to use anesthesia for dentals to give a full assessment of your pet’s mouth.
❄️ Dr. Meineka’s dogs love the snow! ❄️
Let’s see your snow pictures below!
Just a reminder . We live in Missouri and the weather fluctuates😊 This little tick was found on a dog today! These are a reason we encourage year round flea and tick prevention!
Anyone else have that mid afternoon slump like Zanie?
🧀 It’s National Cheese Lovers Day! 🧀
We use cheese to treat our patients and make their shots a breeze! Mia didn’t even know Dr. Meineka gave her puppy vaccine 🥰
It’s the first of the month…Time for your pets’ heartworm and flea/tick preventatives! Here’s some tips from Dr. Meineka:
✔️Give prevention every 30 days, ALL year long. Heartworm disease and flea infestations are expensive and SO not fun to deal with 😕
✔️ If your dog swallows their chews whole or if you have to put them in their mouth, break them up for proper absorption.
✔️ If you use a topical heartworm preventative like Advantage Multi don’t forget to avoid bathing for 48 hours before and after application.
✔️ If you give Credelio for flea/tick prevention remember it should be given with a meal.
🚨Struggling to get your dog to eat their heartworm chews? Call us to schedule a Proheart 6 or 12 month long preventative injection! NO need to give chews every month!

“My dog doesn’t go outside…”
“He only goes out to go potty and comes right back in.”
Mosquitoes come inside, friends. And they carry heartworms.
This big fat mosquito was INSIDE the bathroom, in the very back part of our building, far away from all doors and windows. They’re in your house, too.
🐾 Sweet Ellie Mae showed us ALL her tricks during her visit last week! 🐾
